Users of\u00a0Akeela\u00a0can find, connect and message each other through profiles that \u201cfloat\u201d in augmented reality and are visible to other users of the app. \u201c We created\u00a0Akeela\u00a0to give people a way to meet and interact in the real world, which is how the brain finds meaning\u201d said Beau Lotto, a leading neuroscientist and CEO of\u00a0Akeela. In the future\u00a0Akeela\u00a0will give consumers the option of receiving content from merchants in the neighborhoods where they work and live. \u201cOur goal is to get people to literally look up from their phones, see what\u2019s around them and be where they are. Neuroscience tells us that these are the interactions that have the greatest value for people\u201d adds Lotto. Every Akeela user creates a profile that not only tells others who they are, but also identifies users by what they care about most.
