Beam Camp seeks practicing artists\/makers to work collaboratively with Project Team (Project Director, Program Director, & other specialists) to design and deliver workshops in the Beam Fundamentals for kids aged 10-17, and to be an active participant in Beam Camp\u2019s unique summer community of fun and learning. The job requires grace under<\/div>\n
pressure, good humor and an interest in providing children with valuable experiences in creativity, craft and community.<\/div>\n

The Beam Fundamentals are:<\/strong><\/div>\n
Project & Building: construction, carpentry, metal work, project planning<\/div>\n
Computing & Electronics: circuitry, physical computing, coding, video<\/div>\n
Design & Prototyping: model-making, design thinking, digital fabrication<\/div>\n
Craft & Materials: ceramics, fiber & textiles, printmaking,<\/div>\n

We are looking for candidates who have skill in one or more<\/div>\n
of the areas listed above & availability for a full summer or<\/div>\n
half summer commitment.<\/div>\n

We Build Unique And Spectacular Projects that serve as the centerpieces of each Beam session. Beam commissions<\/div>\n
a different distinguished artist, architect or general big thinker as Project<\/div>\n
Master to conceive each camp session\u2019s Project. Beam Campers work<\/div>\n
alongside our full-time and visiting staff of architects, videographers,<\/div>\n
builders, engineers, designers, and makers of all kinds to bring the Project to life.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

At Beam Kids & Adults Learn To Make Their Ideas Happen<\/div>\n
through fine and manual arts, technology and collaboration. Beam<\/div>\n
Campers cultivate hands-on skills while exploring innovative thinking,<\/div>\n
design and the creative process. They build, swim, hike, play games and<\/div>\n
enjoy 750 acres of mountain, forests and lakes.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Qualifications<\/strong><\/div>\n
Applicants should have: facility, confidence, and a high level of proficiency or an overlap of skills in a fundamental area: professional work experience in some capacity;\u00a0experience managing people; experience teaching or working with kids.<\/div>\n

Specialists also participate in the execution of the Beam Project, and guide campers in designing, developing,<\/div>\n
and making their own projects in the Independent Work program area; both the Project and Independent Work<\/div>\n
