We are passionate about engaging girls and boys in STEM without creating gender barriers. We are part of the Brooklyn Fashion and Design accelerator, a thriving community of creative technologists, designers, and entrepreneurs.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Teknikio is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and creative electrical hardware engineer to develop an<\/div>\n<div>NSF-funded educational Internet-of-Things (IoT) product to bring IoT-focused design to the K-12 classroom. You will be working to design and realize the next-generation low-cost hardware solution for IoT in education.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You will be responsible for designing, drafting, and overseeing the manufacturing and testing of the hardware, based on close ongoing communication from our firmware and design team. Must be able to provide references.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Work as a member of the Engineering hardware team to design new components, products, and<\/div>\n<div>systems<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Collaborate with our firmware team to specify and develop a MCU system<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Develop firmware and hardware testing procedures<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Design and modify analog and digital circuits<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Proficiency with multi-layer PCB layout for manufacture<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Build and rework prototypes as needed<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Test and verify hardware and firmware according to engineering team guidelines<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Develop assembly line test procedures, fixturing, and software<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div><strong>Skills\/Experience:<\/strong><\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Bachelor&#8217;s degree in Electrical\/ Computer Engineering or equivalent<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf 2+ years\u2019 experience working on embedded hardware projects<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Experience with various microcontroller architecture, including ARM Cortex.<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Experience with the Nordic nRF52840 or nRF52832 chip a plus.<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Experience with Internet-connected devices a plus (IoT, BLE, WiFi, etc)<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Proficiency in C, C++, Assembly, GCC.<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Competency in circuit and PCB design on a standard EDA platform (EaglePCB, Altium, etc.)<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Analog circuit design proficiency.<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Effective soldering and prototyping skills, including surface-mount technology<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Experience in scripting languages such as Python a plus.<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Linux competency, iOS\/Android development experience a plus.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You will be joining a small team at an early stage. Someone with the right attitude, experience and<\/div>\n<div>approach is as important as the technologies involved. We are looking for someone who:<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Can take initiative in understanding the tech requirements by talking to colleagues and users<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Is comfortable with working in a startup environment, with a willingness to participate beyond their core job responsibilities<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Creative and innovative in finding ways to meet the requirements<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Is risk-tolerant, willing to give ideas a try (then try again)<\/div>\n<div>\u25cf Comfort working in a fluid environment under tight deadlines<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The position is 6-9 months (potential to continue beyond) in Brooklyn, NY, with some flexibility regarding full vs. part-time status. All work must be performed in the U.S.A.
