It will feature doctoral and<br \/>\npostdoctoral programs, with the aim of training a new generation of<br \/>\nscholars who will enter the global academic community and become<br \/>\nintellectual leaders. Built around a mix of established and younger<br \/>\nscholars, the Institute is designed to make possible concrete<br \/>\nprogress in ground-breaking study that would be more difficult within<br \/>\nnarrow disciplinary bounds.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning November 2009, ISAW will be installing its second<br \/>\nexhibition entitled The Lost World of Old Europe: The Danube Valley<br \/>\n5000-3500 BC, which features prehistoric material from Romania,<br \/>\nBulgaria and the Republic of Moldova.  The Exhibitions and Public<br \/>\nPrograms Department of ISAW is inviting applications from qualified<br \/>\nand suitable graduate students for the position of<br \/>\nGallery Attendant. We seek three graduate students to work as Gallery<br \/>\nAttendants from October 1, 2009 through May 1st, 2010.<\/p>\n<p>Gallery Attendants will be asked to work 20 hours a week and perform<br \/>\na wide variety of educational and gallery duties These include (but<br \/>\nare not limited to) conducting specialized tours of the exhibition,<br \/>\nhandling all catalogue sales and financial records around these<br \/>\nsales, and assisting senior members of the exhibition staff with<br \/>\nvarious research and administrative projects.<\/p>\n<p>Graduate students in the history of art, archaeology, anthropology,<br \/>\nand classics are preferred. Museum experience is desirable.  Must be<br \/>\nwork-study eligible.
