This year-long paid fellowship takes place in New York and Beijing, and will provide hands-on and theoretical training in every aspect of running an international residency program.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At China Residencies in NYC, the fellow will:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Help oversee five fully-funded open calls and develop partnerships within the network<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Build resources and share knowledge to support the entire field of creative exchange<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaise with 45 residencies in mainland China and Hong Kong, as well as embassies and cultural organizations worldwide<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn grant-writing and assist in planning fundraising campaigns<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At I: project space in Beijing, the fellow will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learn the many facets of running a residency, from fundraising to working with artists<\/li>\n<li>Help curate and organize open studios, exhibitions, publications, and artists projects across music, the visual arts, performing arts, design, and film<\/li>\n<li>Get to know Beijing&#8217;s independent and established contemporary art and music scene<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">Throughout, and during the fellowship and during the summer apprenticeship, the fellow will learn key skills such as:<\/li>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li dir=\"ltr\" style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li>Budgeting<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Fundraising<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Building and expanding networks<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Project management<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Evaluating social impact<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>Facilitating cross-cultural understanding<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Timeframe:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">12 months starting January 2019<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002January February March {3 months} New York &#8211; China Residencies<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002March April May June {4 months} I: project space<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002July {1 month} full-time apprenticeship at another partner institution<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002September October November December {4 months} I: project space<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Salary + Benefits:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u300212,000 rmb\/monthly {~$USD 1,770\/month}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002Beijing-NYC round-trip flight<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u30023 weeks paid vacation \uff0b health insurance reimbursement<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002During the year, the fellow will also have the option of take part in events like Residency Knowledge Exchanges and conferences about residencies and arts management.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Application process:<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">To apply, submit <a href=\"https:\/\/chinares.wufoo.com\/forms\/2019-china-residencies-fellowship\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/chinares.wufoo.com\/forms\/2019-china-residencies-fellowship\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1538082361018000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFED-5xvT8nMsXf2Jw5apBRigli1A\">this form<\/a> that will ask for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002Your biography or CV<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002What was the last cultural event [exhibition, concert, film festival, symposium, talk etc] that you really enjoyed and why? {under 500 words}<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li dir=\"ltr\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u3002Create a project proposal: what should there be a residency for?
