Mobile Applications Software Engineer<\/p>\n
This is a key engineering position that requires the ability to
\nproblem solve and communicate clearly in a highly creative and
\nsometimes intense working\/learning environment. Your primary activity
\nwill be to provide support to the Banff New Media Institute’s Advanced
\nResearch Technology (ART) Mobile Lab in its ongoing research
\nactivities. This position reports directly to the Director\/Executive
\nProducer of BNMI, but receives daily direction from the Senior Mobile
\nResearcher. You will act as the technical lead for the ART Mobile Lab
\nin all areas, including in-house software development projects,
\ncollaborations with external artists and partners, research of
\nemerging technologies and platforms, usability research, technical
\nevaluation, proposal writing and dissemination. In particular, you
\nwill be responsible for developing software applications for a variety
\nof mobile devices using GPS, wireless internet, cellular network and
\nsensor input to drive creation and playback of rich-media content,
\ncross-platform user experiences, and other mobile and location-based
\ninteractive installations. This is a 10 month term position starting
\nJune 1, 2009 with the possibility of extending.<\/p>\n
