\nROLE<\/p>\n

The LAB is looking for a proven Creative Technologist with a
\nsignificant background in making amazing interactive experiences. As a
\nCreative Technologist at the LAB, you will be part of a team of
\ntalented technologists and help guide the technical aspects of our
\nprojects, balancing cutting edge technologies and magical results with
\nrealistic, reliable, and efficient implementation.<\/p>\n

Working with our multidisciplinary team of architects, visual
\ndesigners, and strategists, you’ll be part of large scale, public,
\nhigh-budget projects from pitch to build-out, helping set scope
\ndevelopment time and equipment cost, selecting appropriate
\ntechnologies, feeding the creative process by conducting technology
\nresearch and prototype development, planning, developing and managing
\nthe production of software and hardware solutions.<\/p>\n

You will work closely with Creative Technologists and our Studio
\nLeader, Executive Producer, Creative Director, and Project Managers.
\nYou’ll communicate and coordinate with clients at world-renowned and
\nindustry leading brands. You’ll share wisdom with the technology team
\ninternally and assist in maintaining contractor and vendor
\nrelationships externally. The ideal candidate is a great contributor
\nto both the creative and technical development of projects from
\nconcept through installation.<\/p>\n

Our software stack includes a wide range of server-side software,
\nweb-based applications, AR\/VR projects built in game engines like
\nUnity, physical computing systems, and software written in Cinder,
\nopenFrameworks, and Processing. Our ideal candidate has broad
\nexpertise in full-stack software development and is capable of
\nhigh-level software and systems architecture, networking, graphics
\nprogramming, and A\/V systems design.<\/p>\n

RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n

\u25cf Work with creative and production teams to participate in large
\nscale projects from pitch to build-out<\/p>\n

\u25cf Write software for large scale projects, often interactive and\/or
\ngenerative content<\/p>\n

\u25cf Advise in the development of pipelines, work plans, project
\nrequirements and feature sets<\/p>\n

\u25cf Estimate cost, scope development timelines, in coordination with
\nproject managers<\/p>\n

\u25cf Manage existing and form new contractor and vendor relationships<\/p>\n

\u25cf Perform high-level assessment of AV system designs<\/p>\n

\u25cf Find opportunities for new efficiencies, better processes, and
\nsources of revenue in technology and experience design<\/p>\n

\u25cf Participate in the production, documentation, and support of
\ncomplex software and hardware projects<\/p>\n

\u25cf Assess feasibility, forecast and manage risk<\/p>\n

\u25cf Inform the creative process by performing research and prototyping
\nwith the latest technologies<\/p>\n

\u25cf Attend trade conferences and engage the technical community<\/p>\n

\u25cf Help with new business pitches, project presentations, and client
\nmeetings<\/p>\n

Required Skills:
\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n

\u25cf Degree in Computer Science, Design Technology, or equivalent;
\nadvanced degrees preferred<\/p>\n

\u25cf 3+ years experience in software development<\/p>\n

\u25cf 3+ years developing user-facing, creative, interactive
\nexperiences<\/p>\n

\u25cf Experience planning entire software lifecycles: software
\narchitecture, graphics heavy software projects, complex systems,
\nperformance tuning, user testing, documentation, support strategies<\/p>\n

\u25cf Experience dealing with both very long and short timelines, and
\nforming a coherent strategy for each<\/p>\n

\u25cf Experience collaborating with design disciplines, e.g. architects
\nand other creatives<\/p>\n

\u25cf Strong spoken\/written communication, presentation, and project
\nmanagement skills<\/p>\n

\u25cf Able to manage multiple projects in parallel<\/p>\n

\u25cf Exceptional attention to detail<\/p>\n

\u25cf Experience with live events and video production pipelines a plus<\/p>\n

Expected Technical Skills (familiarity with all of the following with
\na strong focus in 3 or more):<\/p>\n

\u25cf Full stack web development (Javascript, Node.js, SQL, Python,
\netc)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Graphics pipeline development (OpenGL, WebGL)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Game engines and AR\/VR (Unreal, Unity, ARKit\/ARCore)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Creative coding frameworks (Cinder, openFrameworks, Processing,
\nThree.js)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Sensor software and hardware, physical computing (OpenCV, Depth
\nSensors, Digital & Analog Sensor, capacitive touch)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Large scale and unconventional A\/V installations (Projectors, LCD,
\nLED, DMX\/Artnet, audio)<\/p>\n

\u25cf Embedded Computing (Raspberry Pi, Arduino) and Linux<\/p>\n

\u25cf Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite and 3D modeling software a
\nplus<\/p>\n
