Since our inception, we have focused on better outcomes for patients, caregivers, and clinicians by delivering solutions for people with diabetes \u2014 while empowering our community to take control of diabetes.<br \/>\nSummary:<br \/>\nDexcom\u2019s Product Design Team is seeking a talented intern in the areas of User Experience Design (User Experience and User Interface Design). The ideal candidate is one who shares our passion for exploring and creating world-class user experiences.<br \/>\nThe User Experience Design Intern will work closely with our product design team to learn the existing products and assist with documentation and design of process flowcharts, user interfaces, and interactive prototypes for various web, mobile, and physical products. Candidate must be proficient in documenting design intent and well-organized. It is beneficial the candidate have familiarity with iOS, Android mobile and wearable devices and familiarity with Android, Google, and iOS UX &amp; UI guidelines.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:<\/strong><br \/>\n\u25cf Exhibit understanding of good practices in UX and\/or UI design<br \/>\n\u25cf Create process flows, interaction flows, wireframes, and behavior specifications<br \/>\n\u25cf Quickly and efficiently create and update prototypes<br \/>\n\u25cf Thrive in highly collaborative, fluid, fast-paced open office environment<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to manage their own time and work within deadlines set by project leads<br \/>\n\u25cf Work with project leads to understand scope and task priorities for multiple projects<br \/>\n\u25cf Have working knowledge of mobile and web design standards, usability heuristics, and<br \/>\nplatform guidelines (ex: Google Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guidelines)<br \/>\n\u25cf Excellent presentation skills with the ability to explain and defend designs<br \/>\n\u25cf Eagerness to work with other creative people and across teams<\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications<\/strong>:<br \/>\n\u25cf Have working knowledge of mobile and web design standards, usability heuristics, and<br \/>\nplatform guidelines<br \/>\n\u25cf 0-1+ years of experience in any or all of the following fields: User Experience Design<br \/>\nand\/or User Interface Design<br \/>\n\u25cf A portfolio demonstrating strong UX and\/or UI<br \/>\n\u25cf Must have good communication skills to discuss tradeoffs between design options<br \/>\n\u25cf Actively seeks discussions for design direction when direction is not obvious<br \/>\n\u25cf Ability to work in a structured corporate environment<br \/>\n\u25cf Education or experience in user-centered design techniques<br \/>\n\u25cf Open to learning to technology, practices, and software<br \/>\n\u25cf Ideally has experience in using an interactive screenflow prototype tool and working with<br \/>\nlogic and variables<br \/>\nEducation Requirements:<br \/>\n\u25cf Candidate can be currently in school pursuing a bachelor&#8217;s degree or greater in user<br \/>\nexperience, visual design, human-computer interaction, cognitive science, design, or in<br \/>\nrelated field.<br \/>\n\u25cf Candidate can also have a bachelor&#8217;s degree or greater in visual design,<br \/>\nhuman-computer interaction, cognitive science, design, or in related field.<br \/>\nPosition Information:<br \/>\n\u25cf This position is paid<br \/>\n\u25cf This position will be over 35 hours per week<br \/>\n\u25cf This internship will run on a contract with extension options based on performance and<br \/>\nneed<br \/>\nPosition Location:<br \/>\n\u25cf Portland: 308 SW 2nd Ave., Portland, OR 97204<br \/>\nTravel Required:<br \/>\n\u25cf 0 \u2013 24%<br \/>\n<strong>Language Skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Must be able to communicate effectively in English.
