This also includes the management of major construction and renovation projects, space rentals, and coordination of outdoor public events.<\/p>\n<p>LCPA is also a leading arts presenter, showcasing a dynamic array of music, dance, and theatre on its stages, curating the American Songbook, Great Performers, Mostly Mozart Festival, Midsummer Night Swing, Lincoln Center Out of Doors, White Light Festival, and David Rubenstein Atrium series as well as overseeing production for the PBS series, Live From Lincoln Center.<\/p>\n<p>Lastly, Lincoln Center Education (LCE), which is part of the LCPA umbrella, strives to help young people in New York develop skills in problem solving, collaboration, communication, imagination, and creativity through their engagement with the arts. In doing so, LCE works to develop teaching artists and oversees community, family, and school programming across the boroughs of New York City.<\/p>\n<p>The Fellow will work collaboratively with Digital Media and Accessibility at Lincoln Center to further accessibility features on the website and apps, reporting to the Assistant Director of Accessibility. With equal focus on content and professional development, this Fellow will research best practices in tech accessibility, meet with leaders in the field, and have the opportunity to present a strategic plan for designing a new element on the website\/app. In addition to contributing to ongoing projects, and access to professional development and mentoring, the Fellow will complete a capstone project that demonstrates innovation in digital accessibility that will be presented to staff.<\/p>\n<p><strong>This Fellowship is a year-long, with the expectation of a 20 hour work week. Nights and weekends shifts will be required. The pay rate will be $20\/hour. Candidates with personal or professional experience with disability are strongly encouraged to apply.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>PRIMARY\u202fRESPONSIBILITIES<\/strong><br \/>\n\u2022 Managing captioning of video content, including tracking new content, captioning and publishing on social media platforms<br \/>\n\u2022 Writing and recording verbal description for video content<br \/>\n\u2022 Conducting an assessment of all aspects of the website and apps to identify possible barriers and create a prioritized list of modifications, based on web accessibility guidelines.<br \/>\n\u2022 Prioritizing and presenting accessibility goals based on assessment.<br \/>\n\u2022 Creating learning modules to train digital media colleagues in best practices in accessible design.<br \/>\n\u2022 Enhancing online wayfinding tools for various disability and general audiences<br \/>\n\u2022 Benchmarking innovative new practice in accessibility<br \/>\n\u2022 Reviewing and supporting accessibility for screenings<br \/>\n\u2022 Monitoring and augmenting compliance<br \/>\n\u2022 Providing administrative departmental support through phone, email and staffing and prepare for events<\/p>\n<p><strong>QUALIFICATIONS\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis might be the right internship for you if you are:<br \/>\n\u2022 A current or recent graduate student in Digital Media, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Adaptive Technology or other similar programs<br \/>\n\u2022 Deeply interested in inclusion and accessibility from a user standpoint<br \/>\n\u2022 Passionate about inclusion and equity, as well as an interest in learning about cultural accessibility<br \/>\n\u2022 Working knowledge of coding, using HTML, CSS or CMS, and knowledge of WCAG standards strongly preferred.<br \/>\n\u2022 Have excellent verbal, face-to-face, written communication skills, research skills, and comfort interacting with the public, including guests with disabilities, in a pleasant, professional manner.<br \/>\n\u2022 Enjoy working with others<br \/>\n\u2022 Have strong attention to detail skills<br \/>\n\u2022 Comfortable contributing ideas and participating in group brainstorming sessions<br \/>\n\u2022 Enthusiastic, energetic, and flexible<br \/>\n\u2022 An excellent communicator with skills that include the ability to communicate obstacles, challenges and ask clarifying questions<br \/>\n\u2022 Ability to work independently while managing various tasks<br \/>\n\u2022 Excellent research and analysis skills, as well as an attention to detail.<br \/>\n\u2022 Demonstrated ability to use sound judgment to identify and solve problems<br \/>\n\u2022 Able to multi-task and prioritize competing assignments all with a keen attention to detail<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUBMISSION PROCEDURE\u202f\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nCandidates should submit a cover letter and resume to the link provided.
