\nation and Development=92s (HPD) Office of Chief of Staff, Policy Research an=
\nd Program Evaluation Group is seeking a student intern with proven=
\n experience applying GIS technology to answer research questions. The positi=
\non requires work on a part-time time basis (10-20 hours per week) for F=
\nall 2009. <\/span>We are offering a c=
\nompetitive salary of $12-15 per hour, depending on experience. <\/span>Federal Work Study students are preferred.=

\ns ten-year plan to create or preserve 165,000 new units of affordable housin=

\n designs and executes broader studies of current housing policy issues as we=
\nll as targeted outcome evaluations of HPD programs. The student intern would=
\n be a part of the research and program evaluation team.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nrs to communicate statistically-derived data to a general audience using map=
\ns, charts, graphs, and diagrams. He or she will assist in the production of data visualization, highlight=
\ning data trends and patterns in support of the New Housing Marketplace Plan.=
\n Tasks will include developing interactive features with Flash and research =
\ntasks associated with housing-related data. <\/p>\n
\n strong, demonstrable interest in urban studies and experience in a variety =
\nof multimedia technologies including Flash, Photoshop, HTML and XML. An unde=
\nrstanding of how to integrate databases into multimedia presentations, knowl=
\nedge of Flash AS2 and AS3 scripting, CSS implementation. and a familiarity w=
\nith JavaScript frameworks and libraries are all extremely desirable.<\/span><\/p>\n
