Heidi Latsky Dance, NYC\u2019s largest and most diverse physically integrated dance company, is
\nlooking for a consortium of partners to create virtual reality technology for their future
\nmainstream show, D.I.S.P.L.A.Y.E.D, which is expected to debut in New York City within the
\nnext two years. Within this show will be an installation, Suspended Disbelief, portraying aerialist
\nand double amputee, Erin Ball, moving up and down her silks towards her suspended
\nwheelchair. With the need to create a VR version of Ball\u2019s movement, Latsky\u2019s vision is that the
\nspace remains empty until the VR glasses are put and revealing this aerial work.
\nHLD utilizes the diversity of her company members, both disabled and non-disabled, to uphold
\ndemocracy and emphasize the importance of the individual. Through performance and discourse,
\nincorporating mediums like film, technology, art, and fashion, Latsky is an advocate for
\ndisability rights, through partnerships with Dance\/NYC\u2019s Disability Task Force and the Mayor’s
\nOffice for People with Disabilities.<\/p>\n
