Position Summary<\/strong><\/p>\n

Responsible for daily operations of numerous labs and equipment for the Integrated Digital Media program.\u00a0 Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs laboratory equipment.\u00a0 Support Faculty, students and staff within IDM in the daily operations of the labs\/equipment.<\/p>\n

About IDM:<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Integrated Digital Media (IDM) Program is a place that fosters creative practice, design research and multidisciplinary\u00a0experimentation with emerging media technologies. As a research-active program within NYU Tandon School of Engineering,\u00a0IDM faculty collaborate in research that integrates digital media and society. Our projects use motion capture\u00a0technology, virtual\/augmented reality, STEAM learning,\u00a0digital fabrication tools such as 3d printers, and citizen science techniques, among many others, as we incorporate emerging technologies across design and socially engaged contexts.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
IDM has grown substantially over the last five years and is the home to almost 400 undergraduate and graduate students. The program\u00a0has been increasingly supporting a mixed portfolio of media production hardware, including multiple motion capture systems, VR\u00a0headsets, etc. as well as fabrication equipment to support faculty research and student work.<\/div>\n

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Communication skills, organizational skills, ability to use industry-standard fabrication and media equipment, with a focus on additive manufacturing (3D printing) and expanded reality equipment (AR\/VR).<\/p>\n
