As one of\u00a0Red Bull Arts<\/a>\u2019 two public-facing spaces, Red Bull Arts Detroit is the home of the program\u2019s\u00a0Artist Residency\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Curatorial Fellowship<\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The artist residency provides artists at different stages of their careers the resources and freedom to develop their practice, with nine artists selected for three two-month-long residency cycles. They receive fully furnished off-site living accommodations, a 6,000-square-foot shared studio space, transportation to Detroit, an 8,000 USD unrestricted stipend, and a 2,000 USD individual budget for hiring assistants, sourcing materials, or otherwise producing work in Detroit.<\/p>\n

The curatorial fellowship creates an opportunity for a curator to realize an exhibition concept and bring it to the public in Detroit. The fellow receives production and marketing support in addition to use of a 12,000 square foot gallery, a 5,000 USD stipend and 15,000 USD exhibition budget (both unrestricted), as well as budget for three to four public programs.<\/p>\n

Red Bull Arts Detroit\u2019s 2020 Selection Committee comprises artist, writer and curator\u00a0Michelle Grabner<\/strong>; writer, artist and Associate Curator of Exhibitions at The Studio Museum in Harlem\u00a0Legacy Russell<\/strong>; artist and 2018 Red Bull Arts Detroit Artist-in-Residence\u00a0Joiri Minaya<\/strong>; and art historian and theorist\u00a0Michael Stone-Richards<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
