We are hoping to re-open in the summer. Interns may be able to&nbsp;work remotely before then, depending on their skillset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Projects you will be working on include physical computing, programming, prototyping, interactive design, mechatronics, woodworking, and digital fabrication.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is an&nbsp;<strong>unpaid<\/strong>&nbsp;position (except those subsidized by the BNY), but in exchange you are provided with your own desk space in our studio and are&nbsp;<strong>given 24 hour access<\/strong>&nbsp;to the workshop and studio resources, including a full wood and metal fabrication shop with high-end CNC tools, laser cutter, and 3D printers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For current students,&nbsp;<strong>school credit is possible<\/strong>&nbsp;with the appropriate commitment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Time commitment is flexible and ranges from\u00a0<strong>12 to 40 hours per week<\/strong>, depending on workload and your availability; this is designed to give the intern a fair opportunity to work on their own projects or earn money at other jobs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/newlab.com\/member-resources\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">facilities<\/a>&nbsp;that all&nbsp;<strong>fabrication interns<\/strong>&nbsp;will have access to include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Wood shop<\/li><li>Metal shop<\/li><li>Welding<\/li><li>CNC mill<\/li><li>CNC lathe<\/li><li>CNC router<\/li><li>Laser cutter<\/li><li>FDM and SLS 3D printers<\/li><li>Vacuum former<\/li><li>Sewing machines<\/li><li>Moldmaking<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For&nbsp;<strong>studio management interns<\/strong>&nbsp;there will also be the opportunity to do work with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>photography<\/li><li>video documentation and editing<\/li><li>website design<\/li><li>catalog and grant writing<\/li><li>studio business administration<\/li><li>social media strategy<\/li><li>public relations<\/li><li><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for interns who are technically minded, organized, creative, and thorough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fabrication<\/strong>&nbsp;interns should have experience with at least two&nbsp;of the following: physical computing, architecture, industrial design, electrical engineering, computer science, or furniture design.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Studio management<\/strong>&nbsp;interns should have experience with at least two of the categories listed in the Skills&nbsp;above (photography, PR, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>To apply:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please send a brief description of yourself and your experience, skills, and interests, along with\u00a0<strong>portfolio<\/strong>\u00a0links to\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:internship@ericforman.com\">internship@ericforman.com<\/a>.
