The Executive Directo=<br \/>\nr will work with a strong staff and a volunteer Board to craft a direction t=<br \/>\nowards increased capacity and sustainability. While the office is in Berkele=<br \/>\ny, some telecommuting will be possible. <\/p>\n<p>CRS seeks an Executive Dire=<br \/>\nctor who will provide visionary leadership to the Board, staff, and voluntee=<br \/>\nrs. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to CRS=92s mission and=<br \/>\n to <b>raising visibility<\/b> for the organization. S\/he will find opportuni=<br \/>\nties to <b>partner<\/b> with organizations and individuals in order to achiev=<br \/>\ne CRS=92s goals.. S\/he will bring the experience and insight to provide focus and di=<br \/>\nrection to CRS=92s strong program base. <\/p>\n<p> <b>Qualifications<\/b> <br \/>=<br \/>\n The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge and experience:  <br \/>=<br \/>\n =95\tThree or more years in a leadership role in a non-profit education orga=<br \/>\nnization or closely related field <br \/> =95\tFamiliarity with elementary scien=<br \/>\nce content and pedagogy <br \/> =95 Demonstrated success developing and impleme=<br \/>\nnting diversified fundraising plans, including foundation and corporate gran=<br \/>\nts, individual donors, and contracts <br \/> =95\tExperience developing and impl=<br \/>\nementing strategic planning, and measuring organizational outcomes <br \/>=95 W=<br \/>\norking knowledge of the context of CRS program delivery: K-5 public elementa=<br \/>\nry schools, science education organizations, environmental education communi=<br \/>\nty <br \/> =95\tDemonstrated experience with non-profit financial management and=<br \/>\n planning <br \/> =95\tDemonstrated success building strategic partnerships <br \/>=<br \/>\n =95\tExperience with Board relations and development <br \/> =95\tDemonstrated c=<br \/>\nommitment to CRS=92s mission <br \/> =95\tAbility to provide leadership and dire=<br \/>\nction to staff, contractors, and consultants <\/p>\n<p> <b>Responsibilities <br \/> <i>Leadership:<\/i> Ensure that the available resources are effective=<br \/>\nly used to meet the needs of the organization in fulfillment of its mission.=<br \/>\n Work in partnership with the Board of Directors to provide direction for th=<br \/>\ne organization. Serve as the liaison between Board and staff. <\/p>\n<p> <i>P=<br \/>\nlanning:<\/i> Provide leadership, vision, oversight, and direction for the ac=<br \/>\nhievement of CRS=92s mission through strategic organizational planning. Over=<br \/>\nsee operational planning to ensure the successful implementation of the stra=<br \/>\ntegic plan. Work with planning consultants. <\/p>\n<p> <i>Board relations: Work closely with the Board of Directors to ensure and facilitate the Boar=<br \/>\nd=92s involvement in developing CRS=92s policies and programs. Help mobilize=<br \/>\n new Board talent to meet organizational needs. <\/p>\n<p> <i>Staff leadershi=<br \/>\np:<\/i> Lead and supervise staff and consultants. Provide leadership to help =<br \/>\nstaff with professional development. Oversee scheduling and work flow accord=<br \/>\ning to staff capacity. <\/p>\n<p> <i>Resource development and management:<\/i>=<br \/>\n Lead and oversee all development efforts that enhance the financial viabili=<br \/>\nty of CRS. Be an active fundraiser for the organization. Write grants or wor=<br \/>\nk with a grant writer to bring in $200,000 or more in grant income annually.=<br \/>\n Manage the development and implementation of consulting contracts and earne=<br \/>\nd income opportunities. <\/p>\n<p> <i>Program: <\/i>Ensure that program design=<br \/>\n and decisions are consistent with CRS=92s mission and vision. Provide focus=<br \/>\n and direction to the Teacher Membership and Volunteer (Community in Classro=<br \/>\nom) programs. Evaluate the impact and effectiveness of programs. <\/p>\n<p> Budget, financial and legal oversight:<\/i> Lead the budgeting process and =<br \/>\nfinancial management. Work with bookkeeper to maintain accounting in Quickbo=<br \/>\noks. Ensure that the Board has all the information it needs to make decision=<br \/>\ns. Ensure compliance with legal obligations, insurance policies, and banking=<br \/>\n\/credit relationships. <\/p>\n<p> <i>Public relations and outreach:<\/i> Build=<br \/>\n community awareness and lead outreach efforts to new schools and new source=<br \/>\ns of volunteers. Serve as chief spokesperson representing the organization i=<br \/>\nn the community.
