\nce for Downtown New York (=93Downtown Alliance=94) manages the Downtown-Lowe=
\nr Manhattan Business Improvement District, serving an area roughly from City=
\n Hall to the Battery, from the East River to West Street. We provide a host =
\nof services, including supplemental sanitation and security, economic develo=
\npment, streetscape and transportation improvements, marketing and enhanced t=
\nourist services. <\/i><\/span>The mission of the Downtown Alliance is to be the principal organizati=
\non that provides Lower Manhattan’s historic financial district with a premie=
\nr physical and economic environment, advocates for businesses and property o=
\nwners and promotes the area as a world-class destination for companies, work=
\ners, residents and visitors.<\/span><\/div>\n
\n to serve as Director of the Hive@55, a new coworking space the Downtown All=
\niance is opening with support from the New York City Economic Development Co=
\nrporation. <\/span>This new full-time=
\n position will report to the Senior Vice President for Planning and Economic=
\n Development and will collaborate with Downtown Alliance Economic Developmen=
\nt staff. <\/span>The coworking space =
\nwill provide flexible, affordably-priced workspace for consultants, freelanc=
\ners and budding entrepreneurs and small businesses and will offer workshops,=
\n educational and training opportunities, as well as space for outside groups=
\n to host events. <\/span>This type of=
\n collaborative work environment aspires to create a community space for entr=
\nepreneurs where ideas can be shared and exchanged, sparking innovation and n=
\new business opportunities. <\/span>Th=
\ne Hive will further the organization=92s mission of supporting local entrepr=
\neneurs and the growing live\/work population in Lower Manhattan, spur economi=
\nc development in Lower Manhattan by nurturing small businesses, and establis=
\nh Lower Manhattan as a place that supports and attracts innovative people.<\/span><\/div>\n
\nve@55 will serve as the day to day manager of the coworking facility and wil=
\nl serve as a liaison between the Hive and the Downtown Alliance. <\/span>The facility will be open and staffed f=
\nive days a week, and the Director is expected to work 40 hours per week incl=
\nuding evening hours. <\/span>With par=
\nt time support, the facility will be open approximately 12 hours each day. <\/span>Day to day responsibilities wi=
\nll include creating a weekly staffing plan and coordinating with other Downt=
\nown Alliance staff, as well as facility management tasks such as: <\/span><\/div>\n

\nchnical assistance of wireless network<\/span> Event management, membership =
\n and event reporting<\/span> Ordering and maintaining supplies<\/span>=

\nce providers who offer supplement services to Hive members (i.e. compute=
\nr and printing services companies, packaging and shipping companies, etc=
\n.)<\/span> <\/p>\n
\ning marketing support both online and in print, maintaining an online presen=
\nce through the maintenance of a website and through social media outlets, pu=
\nrsuing public relations opportunities, and being solely responsible for outr=
\neach and sales.<\/span><\/div>\n
