Our principals Jeremy Heimans and David Madden co-founded GetUp.org -=<br \/>\n an Australian online political movement that is now larger than all Austral=<br \/>\nia&#8217;s political parties put together and Avaaz.org, the world&#8217;s largest onlin=<br \/>\ne political community with more than 3.5 million members (a partnership with=<br \/>\n MoveOn.org). Another principal, Douglas Atkin, is the author of The Culting=<br \/>\n of Brands, helped build cult brands like Jet Blue, and is a world-renowned =<br \/>\nexpert on the psychology of belonging.&nbsp; <\/font>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><font>Purpose Campaigns is currently advising =<br \/>\nadvocacy groups and progressive brands around the world and is also incubati=<br \/>\nng new issue-based movements.&nbsp; We&#8217;re a new, unusual and evolving combin=<br \/>\nation of an agency and a home for political and social entrepreneurship.&amp;nbs=<br \/>\np; <\/font>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><font>Purpose=<br \/>\n Campaigns has advised GlobalZero.org &#8211; a new global campaign for a world wi=<br \/>\nthout nuclear weapons spearheaded by Richard Branson, Queen Noor, Jimmy Cart=<br \/>\ner and Mikhail Gorbachev; the 2007 presidential campaign of Segolene Royal, =<br \/>\nthe first woman to win a major party nomination for President of France; the=<br \/>\n Australian and US labor movements and just launched a new global anti-cance=<br \/>\nr movement, LivestrongAction.org, for the Lance Armstrong Foundation, among =<br \/>\nothers.&nbsp; <\/font>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><font>We&#8217;re now helping some of the world&#8217;s best known brands champion issu=<br \/>\nes and causes in exciting new ways that go much further than traditional CSR=<br \/>\n or tokenistic &#8220;1% of every product sold helps save the rainforests&#8221; drivel.=<br \/>\n&nbsp; We&#8217;re working on launching a ground-breaking transnational gay rights=<br \/>\n movement and on building mass consumer movements that help high-impact gree=<br \/>\nn products get to scale quickly.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/font>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><font>We&#8217;re looking to expand our team. We hav=<br \/>\ne some immediate project-based work available, and we&#8217;re also looking for ne=<br \/>\nw full-time team members at varying levels of experience and seniority.&amp;nbsp=<br \/>\n; <\/font>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><font>Our idea=<br \/>\nl candidate is an experienced campaigner, social entrepreneur or agency type=<br \/>\n with strong strategy, project management and client relationship skills, wh=<br \/>\no is excited by the prospect of joining a global team focused on building in=<br \/>\nnovative social and political movements, as well as helping progressive comp=<br \/>\nanies get their message out in entirely new ways.&nbsp;&nbsp; <\/font>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><font>Here are some of the qu=<br \/>\nalities we&#8217;re looking for:&nbsp; <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; Brilliant online organizers, campaigners and strategists who=<br \/>\n have the ability to creatively apply that set of skills across different is=<br \/>\nsues and causes, and for different types of advocacy groups and companies. W=<br \/>\ne&#8217;re thinking about questions like how to build a mass consumer movement for=<br \/>\n electric cars &#8212; if you are too, we should talk. <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; People who can combine high-level strateg=<br \/>\ny with tactical creativity &#8212; deploying online organizing, social media and =<br \/>\ncontent in innovative ways to build movements, not as ends in themselves <\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; People with demonstr=<br \/>\nated experience building and managing partner or client relationships <\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; Experienced and well-or=<br \/>\nganized team and project managers <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; Experience in advertising\/branding and marketing is a plus =<br \/>\n<\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; A sophisticated u=<br \/>\nnderstanding of technology (including social media) and any technical experi=<br \/>\nence (especially working with Drupal and other content management systems) i=<br \/>\ns a plus <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; Great wr=<br \/>\niters, cultural\/political communicators and message-makers &#8212; A global sensi=<br \/>\nbility, foreign language skills, global policy expertise and global work exp=<br \/>\nerience are all a big plus <\/font><\/p>\n<p><font>&#8212; Graphic design skills and sensibility are a plus &#8211; if you&#8217;re a sup=<br \/>\ner-talented, issue-savvy graphic designer, we may have a dedicated role avai=<br \/>\nlable&nbsp; <\/font>&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><font>If you&#8217;re interested in finding out more, please send a short CV and brie=<br \/>\nf cover note ASAP outlining your relevant experience to jobs at purposecampaigns.com.
