Assisting the artist=
\ns in installation\/de-installation and operation  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
of the newspaper office, produ=
\nction and distribution of the newspaper<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Welcoming and informing the audience during o=
\npening hours (12-6pm)<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
Facilitating communication between institutions and partners =
\ninvolved<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nProofreading<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

Skills: the candidate should be enthusiastic and pragmati=
\nc, with an  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
interest in contemporary media, some knowledge of contemporary art, =
\n <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\n the ability to work under pressure and within a team. Careful  <\/span>=
\n<\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
readers are part=
\nicularly welcome, as manic yet rigorous proofreading  <\/span><\/span><\/div>\n
is likely to be one of the=
\n main tasks of everyone involved in this  <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/div>\n

\nABOUT PERFORMA<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
Performa, a non-profit multidiscip=
\nlinary arts organization established by RoseLee Goldberg in 2004, is dedicat=
\ned to exploring the critical role of live performance in the history of twen=
\ntieth century art and to encouraging new directions in performance for the t=
\nwenty-first century. Performa launched New York<\/span>=92<\/span><\/span>s fir=
\nst performance biennial, Performa 05, in 2005, and followed up with Performa=
\n 07 in 2007. Both biennials were greeted with tremendous critical and popula=
\nr acclaim.<\/span><\/div>\n

Performa 09, the third biennial of new visual art performance, will take=
\n place in New York City from November 1-22, 2009, bringing over 50 venues an=
\nd 25 curators together to present more than 80 artists from around the world=
\n. Taking the 100th anniversary of Futurism as its starting point, Performa 0=
\n9 will feature new Performa Commissions as part of an exciting program of li=
\nve events in visual art, film, noise music, sound poetry, graphic design, da=
\nnce, architecture, and urbanism that seeks to re-imagine the cultural future=
\n of New York City.<\/span><\/div>\n
