Purpose Campaigns is an international team based in New York that =
\nbuilds cutting-edge social and political movements. Our principals David Mad=
\nden and Jeremy Heimans co-founded GetUp.org =96 an Australian online politic=
\nal movement that is now larger than all Australia=92s political parties put =
\ntogether and www.avaaz.org\/en\/, the=
\n world=92s largest online political community with more than 3.3 million mem=
\nbers (a partnership with MoveOn.org).<\/p>\n
Purpose Campaigns is currentl=
\ny advising advocacy groups and progressive companies around the world and is=
\n also incubating new issue-based movements. We=92re a new, unusual and evolv=
\ning combination of an agency and a home for political and social entrepreneu=
\nrship. Most recently we=92ve launched http:\/\/livestrongaction.org, a movement platform designed to raise awa=
\nreness around the fight against cancer.<\/p>\n
We=92re looking to expand o=
\nur team. We are looking to add a full time team member.<\/p>\n
User Interf=
\nace Designer:
The user interface designer is responsible for generating =
\nthe technical documentation to sufficiently communicate the functionality an=
\nd flow of a web platform to the development and design teams. This is inclus=
\nive of generating wireframes, functionality specs, coordinating with in hous=
\ne and external designers, client communication to clarify goals and objectiv=
\nes, and interfacing with the strategy team in order to define the required t=
\noolsets. The ideal candidate will have some experience in online advocacy an=
\nd with a keen interest in new ways to use technology to build large-scale, s=
\nustainable movements.<\/p>\n
Candidates must be able to show examples of h=
\now they solved complicated problems without burdening users with complexity.=<\/p>\n
Specific Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Drive user interface designs f=
\nrom the initial vision, to conceptualization, through prototyping, to implem=
\nentation which may include developing high level, and\/or detailed storyboard=
\ns, mock-ups, and prototypes to effectively communicate the functionality and=
\n flow of the product to designers and developers.
Lead the QA phase of t=
\nesting post production to ensure conformity of the final product to the gene=
\nrated specifications.
Provide status updates to management.
Perform =
\nother related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Required:<\/p>\n
2 ye=
\nars user experience design or related field.
Proven experience designing=
\n customer facing interfaces.
Strong understanding of UI\/UX and QA princi=
\nples and best practices.
Must have experience creating mockups and wiref=
\nrames using one of the common software packages.
Knowledge or familiarit=
\ny with user research, and usability testing.
Excellent visual and oral\/w=
\nritten communication skills.
Passion for and demonstrated knowledge of u=
\nser-centered design.
Experience with the Drupal CMS
Preferred Qualif=
\nications:<\/p>\n
Degree in design or related discipline.
Graphic Desig=
\nn experience.
