Visiting Assistant Professor in Theater and Dance position

\nTrinity College invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position in the
\nDepartment of Theater and Dance, for the academic year beginning July 1, 2022 (service period
\nbegins fall semester). For this position, the ideal candidates will be outstanding arts
\npractitioners working across the areas of:
\n\uf0b7 Choreography and Dance Practice
\n\uf0b7 Interdisciplinary Approaches to Performance
\n\uf0b7 New Media
\n\uf0b7 Arts and Community<\/p>\n
The Department of Theater and Dance is seeking interdisciplinary and engaging educators who
\ncan effectively bridge theater and dance and offer a broad perspective on performance. Our
\ncurriculum balances studio practice, performance creation, historical inquiry, and social
\nengagement; and we welcome practitioners who can deepen, enrich, and question these
\ncategories. Particular attention will be paid to applicants whose work sits at intersections of
\ndance, theater, and popular, global, somatic, or community-based forms.
\nWith a five-course teaching load, responsibilities to be covered by the Visiting Assistant
\nProfessor position may include courses in dance, physical approaches to performance, making
\ndances, composition, directing, devising, or other generative performance practice, new and\/or
\ninteractive media practice, writing for stage and screen, performance and community, and
\ncreating\/directing fully supported departmental production(s). Additional responsibilities
\ninclude contributing to departmental business and planning, as well as mentoring and\/or
\nadvising students.
\nA terminal degree or equivalent experience is required. We seek candidates who are
\ncollaborative, participatory, organized, and see opportunities for performing arts within a
\nliberal arts setting.
\nThe salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
