Course Description:<\/p>\n

This is an intermediate-advanced design-build course where students will experiment with manipulating dynamic, interactive environments based on data from sensors and actuators embedded in buildings and cities. Students will prototype weekly interventions which alter the behavior of a space using sensors and actuators (light, sound, touch, motion, etc.). These aims could be activist, utilitarian, experiential, and more. We will question how modern day digital systems (smart home sensors, voice assistants, computer vision cameras, live projection, etc.) influence habits, flows, cultures, and behaviors. We will learn how to chain together applications and physical objects into an interacting system and read action as form.<\/p>\n
