{"id":214,"date":"2008-05-01T19:35:27","date_gmt":"2008-05-01T15:35:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2008\/05\/01\/job-nyu-training-specialist\/"},"modified":"2008-05-01T19:35:27","modified_gmt":"2008-05-01T15:35:27","slug":"job-nyu-training-specialist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2008\/05\/01\/job-nyu-training-specialist\/","title":{"rendered":"JOB: NYU Training Specialist"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>University Development is currently seeking a Training Specialist to<br \/>\nidentify, recommend, develop and implement training and information<br \/>\nneeds regarding specialized fundraising, alumni, and general<br \/>\ntechnology and conventional off-the-shelf software for the NYU<br \/>\ncommunity of faculty, administrators, students, and staff.<\/p>\n<p>Key responsibilities will be to:<\/p>\n<p>* Develop and deliver (online and in person) training programs on a<br \/>\nvariety of routine and non-routine, complex applications and<br \/>\ntechnologies (e.g., BSR Advance, EMS, Content Management systems,<br \/>\nLAN, Meetingmaker, etc.) developed by UDAR-ITS, including conducting<br \/>\nseminars, training sessions and workshops, to the entire NYU<br \/>\ndevelopment and alumni community (faculty, administrators, students,<br \/>\nstaff);<br \/>\n* Identify, analyze and evaluate training needs;<br \/>\n* Arrange for instructors (for off-the-shelf applications),<br \/>\nfacilities, and materials, as required, for in-service programs;<br \/>\n* Prepare training course materials including determining content,<br \/>\napproach, and emphasis;<br \/>\n* Design and analyze participant assessment forms and, when<br \/>\nappropriate, solicit feedback from supervisors and department<br \/>\nmanagers to assess effectiveness of training programs.<br \/>\n* Evaluate new technology developments and trends in computing field,<br \/>\nincluding reviewing trade publications, attending conferences and<br \/>\nseminars on relevant topics, and meeting with vendor representatives.<\/p>\n<p>To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor&#8217;s degree in computer<br \/>\nscience and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.<br \/>\nThis must include experience developing and presenting training<br \/>\nprograms to a large, diverse constituency.<\/p>\n<p>Also required are the abilities to research and forecast training<br \/>\nneeds and plan and coordinate details related to the delivery of<br \/>\ntraining programs; excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication<br \/>\nskills; and demonstrated written ability.<\/p>\n<p>A Certificate or Master&#8217;s degree in training in information services<br \/>\nand experience training in an educational or legal environment are<br \/>\ndesirable.
