University Development is currently seeking a Training Specialist to
\nidentify, recommend, develop and implement training and information
\nneeds regarding specialized fundraising, alumni, and general
\ntechnology and conventional off-the-shelf software for the NYU
\ncommunity of faculty, administrators, students, and staff.<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities will be to:<\/p>\n
* Develop and deliver (online and in person) training programs on a
\nvariety of routine and non-routine, complex applications and
\ntechnologies (e.g., BSR Advance, EMS, Content Management systems,
\nLAN, Meetingmaker, etc.) developed by UDAR-ITS, including conducting
\nseminars, training sessions and workshops, to the entire NYU
\ndevelopment and alumni community (faculty, administrators, students,
\nstaff);
\n* Identify, analyze and evaluate training needs;
\n* Arrange for instructors (for off-the-shelf applications),
\nfacilities, and materials, as required, for in-service programs;
\n* Prepare training course materials including determining content,
\napproach, and emphasis;
\n* Design and analyze participant assessment forms and, when
\nappropriate, solicit feedback from supervisors and department
\nmanagers to assess effectiveness of training programs.
\n* Evaluate new technology developments and trends in computing field,
\nincluding reviewing trade publications, attending conferences and
\nseminars on relevant topics, and meeting with vendor representatives.<\/p>\n
To qualify, candidates must possess a Bachelor’s degree in computer
\nscience and 2 years relevant experience or equivalent combination.
\nThis must include experience developing and presenting training
\nprograms to a large, diverse constituency.<\/p>\n
Also required are the abilities to research and forecast training
\nneeds and plan and coordinate details related to the delivery of
\ntraining programs; excellent interpersonal, verbal and communication
\nskills; and demonstrated written ability.<\/p>\n
A Certificate or Master’s degree in training in information services
\nand experience training in an educational or legal environment are
\ndesirable. The ideal candidate will also have experience working with
\nPCs, networked environments, database, Mac software, and local area
\nnetworks as well as experience with video-conferencing and technology
\nin education initiatives.<\/p>\n
