Mitch Altman is an organizer for HOPE (Hackers On Planet Earth), which happens every
\ntwo years in NYC.\u00a0 This year the conference is called A New HOPE, and is
\nhappening 22-24 July at St. John’s University in Queens.

\nThere will be about 150 talks, about 50 workshops, lots of art, music, food, plenty of
\nMate.\u00a0 There will also be a Village area, with lots of interesting
\ngroups doing self-organized activities and demos.\u00a0 HOPE is a really fun
\nand educational event with a great community.<\/p>\n

If any ITP\/IMA students are interested in\u00a0attending, HOPE
\ncould work out a student group price.\u00a0 They could have a
\ntable in our Village area.<\/p>\n

Also, if anyone would like to give a talk or a workshop,
\nyou are totally welcome to submit a proposal.\u00a0 All people with an
\naccepted proposal get a free ticket.
