Position Summary<\/h2>\n

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Digital Library Infrastructure, the Jr. Programmer\/Analyst – Interface Designer will help develop web-based tools for content curation, display, and discovery. The tools that this individual will build will support researchers during the full research lifecycle, including data storage and preservation, open access publication, and data discovery and dissemination. This individual will work closely with designers, developers, functional requirements writers, and project managers. This position is expected to act independently within guidelines, make changes with limited risks, and propose work.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

Qualifications<\/h2>\n

\n
Required Education:<\/b>
\nBachelor’s Degree or equivalent<\/p>\n

Required Experience:<\/b>
\n2+ years Two years of progressively more responsible work experience in an IT-related profession, which may include college course work in IT (BS in Computer Science equals two years). Dedication to ongoing learning. Excellent oral and written communication skills<\/p>\n

Preferred Experience:<\/b>
\n2+ years Advanced degree from an arts, computer science, architecture, or new media design program. Experience working in academic library Design principles, cross-device\/responsive design, Material Design, typography HTML5, SASS, JSON, Bootstrap, Drupal, WordPress, Hugo, Python, Solr, javascript frameworks (React, Vue.js, Angular, etc), modern front-end toolchains (Webpack\/Gulp\/etc.). Design tools such as Adobe Suite, Balsamiq, Omnigraffle, Sketch. Familiarity with Web performance optimization, SEO, scalability<\/p>\n

Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities:<\/b>
\nExperience building Web sites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Experience working in a Unix \/ Linux web development environment. Familiarity with user interface and usability design concepts. Familiarity with GitHub<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
