For the Ambient Media department of the Bell =
\nLabs research <\/b>division of Alcatel-Lucent<\/font><\/div>\n

\nlgium), we are looking for a Senior Researcher in Physical Computing.<\/font>=\n<\/div>\n
The Ambient Media department <\/b>in Bell-Labs focuses on cre=
\nating new Application Concepts<\/font><\/div>\n
and Application Creation E=
\nnvironments for so- called “ambient” applications in which the userinterface=
\n<\/font><\/div>\n
and application intelligence (HW & SW) are distribut=
\ned over (and incorporated in) the<\/font><\/div>\n
environment. The depart=
\nment performs multi-disciplinary research (combining human sciences,<\/font><\/p>\n
design & computer science) to realize the vision of an open =
\ntechnology standard, eco-system<\/font><\/div>\n
and marketplace for user-=
\ncreated Internet- of-Things applications. We believe that nontechnical<\/font><\/div>\n
users can be empowered to create (both physically as=
\n =93programmatically=94)<\/b><\/font><\/div>\n
their own Do-it-Yourself =
\nInternet-of-Things applications. <\/b>The research encompasses both<\/font><\/p>\n
software creation paradigms and platforms as smart objects as inte=
\nraction means in the<\/font><\/div>\n

\n-off of our previous<\/font><\/div>\n

\n explore the concept of intuitive Ambient Programming<\/font><\/div>\n

\n Is eager to work in a multi-disciplinary team (sociologist, computer scient=
\nists, designers,<\/font><\/div>\n
usability expert, creativity coach and m=
\narketeer are already onboard)<\/font><\/div>\n
=B7 Wants to create. Is act=
\nive in prototype design & development (both conceptual, HW and<\/font><\/p>\n
SW).<\/font><\/div>\n
=B7 Wants to conduct research in the domai=
\nn of physical computing & smart objects, from<\/font><\/div>\n

\nualisation, HW & SW prototyping up to writing patents & publications=

=B7 Has experience in Media, Human-Computer Interaction=

ubiquitous computing), incl=
