Morehouse College emphasizes teaching and a student-centered learning environment. Faculty will be expected to teach specific lower-division major courses in addition to upper-division courses in needed areas. Morehouse College Cinema, Television &amp; Emerging Media Studies (CTEMS) seeks applications for an Assistant or Associate level faculty position to begin on August 1, 2022. Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in their discipline before or within the semester of the start date. In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities, student engagement and academic advisement, and service to the college and community.<strong>Required Qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ph.D. in Film &amp; Television Studies. &#8211; Ability to teach fundamental film and television core studies (including History, Theory, Genres, American, African American, world cinema) with secondary specialization in a preferred<strong>Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Faculty will be expected to teach lower-division courses in addition to upper-division courses &#8211; In addition to teaching, applicants are expected to actively participate in scholarly activities, extensive student engagement and to contribute in the area of service to the college and community &#8211; Advising and mentoring are expected of all faculty<strong>Essential Duties\/Responsibilities <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Applicants should demonstrate significant expertise in teaching, strong service to the institution, and established research.
