Position Summary:
\nThe NJIT School of Art & Design is recruiting a pool of applicants interested in teaching classes in Digital Design at the\u00a0undergraduate and graduate programs on an ongoing basis. Qualified applicants not able to take on a class in a\u00a0particular semester would continue to be considered in future semesters. Adjunct instructors will be given the learning\u00a0objectives and requirements for each class assigned. May also apply to teach courses in the school of Art + Design\u00a0with “AD” prefixes.<\/p>\n
Essential Functions:
\nTeaching: Integrate core concepts from past courses into the one being taught. Communicate with students, faculty,\u00a0and administration on student progress throughout the semester.<\/p>\n
Prerequisite Qualifications:
\nMust possess a design-related Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution or a bachelor’s degree with appropriate\u00a0industry experience to teach undergraduate courses. Advanced degree or significant equivalent industry experience\u00a0required to teach at the graduate level.<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualifications:
\nPrior teaching experience is particularly welcome. Advanced Degree preferred. \u00a0Depending on the course, the\u00a0instructor would need to have relevant experience in creative, analytical, or synthetic design areas. Hands-on\u00a0knowledge of course topics is desired (e.g., knowledge of game design and interactivity, 2D and 3D animation, XR,\u00a0motion graphics, screen based communication and UI\/UX, knowledge of arduino programming and physical computing,\u00a0web design and use of digital software to produce and evaluate design work, etc.)<\/p>\n
