OVERVIEW
\nThe Digital Project Manager will assist Digital & Emerging Media (DEM) by providing digital
\nproject management support by executing a variety of methodologies like, Agile, Scrum, and
\nWaterfall. The incumbent will actively participate in the execution and delivery of a wide array
\nof new digital products. Works closely with the lead content strategist and the members of the
\nDEM team.
\nReports to the Director of Cross-Platform Content.
\nMAJOR DUTIES
\n\u2022 Executes digital project management such as Agile and Scrum to establish a digital project, run
\nthe sprint planning, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives with the DEM team and
\nany internal stakeholders.
\n\u2022 Identifies and monitors project risks, roadblocks, dependencies, and communicating those
\nstatuses between members of DEM, internal museum stakeholders and 3rd<\/p>\n
-party vendors who<\/p>\n
are executing and developing digital products.
\n\u2022 Creates and monitors project plans using a variety of digital project management tools, such as
\nJIRA, Microsoft Projects, Trello, and GitHub Issues.
\n\u2022 Leads and executes small digital projects related to the digital extraction of collections data
\nfrom TMS and Cooper Hewitt’s databases and communicates project status between DEM,
\ncuratorial and registrar departments so that data can be made available to the public on our
\nweb platforms using HTML, CSS, PHP, and our API (Application Programming Interface).
\n\u2022 Produces and manages project documentation for the DEM, Tessitura customer relationship
\nmanagement team, and Cross-Platform Content.
\n\u2022 Records and documents meeting minutes for distribution.
\n\u2022 Assists with new and modified contracts and purchase orders.
\n\u2022 Schedules meetings with DEM, cross-departmental stakeholders, and 3rd parties.<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
\nMinimum of two years of full-time experience that demonstrates the following
\nknowledge\/skills\/abilities:<\/p>\n
\u2022 Experience working with software development teams to manage web-related projects and
\nproduct development.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of implementing a variety of digital project management methodologies such as
\nAgile and Scrum, establishing digital project plans, running sprint planning, daily scrums, sprint
\nreviews and retrospectives.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of identifying and monitoring project risks, roadblocks, dependencies, and
\ncommunicating those statuses between internal museum stakeholders and 3rd party vendors.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of using a variety of digital project management software tools, such as JIRA,
\nMicrosoft Projects, Trello and GitHub Issues.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of museum data management such as “The Museum System” (TMS) or equivalent
\ncollection management system, how the curatorial department and registrar use that data, and
\nhow that data is rendered to the public with technologies such as databases, HTML, CSS, PHP
\nand other modem web frameworks, and APIs.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of technical writing for the documentation of a digital projects
\n\u2022 Basic understanding of budgets and related software and\/or hardware to assist in predicating
\nthe potential cost to projects or assist in the estimation of feasible budgets\/provide
\nrecommendations and or proposals.
\n\u2022 Understanding of web technology to understand how websites and network works, such as
\nHTML, CSS, and other modem website languages. Knowing what Application Programming
\nInterface (API) and databases are.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of overall system software, hardware, and networking to help DEM team recognize
\ninterrelationships sufficient to report, respond to, and resolve customer requests.
\n\u2022 Knowledge of Microsoft Windows OS 7, 8.1, Windows 10, and Microsoft Office products, and
\nother common personal computer software and applications. Keeps updated on Microsoft
\ntechnology.
\n\u2022 Excellent interpersonal skills.
\n\u2022 Works well with others.
\nHOURLY RATE: $37.00\/hour
\nHOURS: 35 hours per week (10am to 5pm)
