The Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty<\/p>\n
position in Foundation 4-D. Applicants are required to have an MFA degree and a minimum of two years college<\/p>\n
teaching experience, with a background of instructing at the foundation\/first year level preferred. Responsibilities<\/p>\n
will include teaching three undergraduate foundation-level studio courses per semester (with a focus on 4-D) and<\/p>\n
service to the department, college and university. Appointment will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and begin<\/p>\n
in August 2023.<\/p>\n

We seek an artist with an active practice in 4-D\/Time-Based media and expertise or experience in the following<\/p>\n
areas: video, digital photography, computer programming, performance, animation, interactive, interdisciplinary,<\/p>\n
and\/or concept-based art forms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a<\/p>\n
diverse student body at a small Art School within a University setting while maintaining professional, innovative<\/p>\n
studio production and a strong exhibition record. Candidate must display the facility to employ and manage 4-D<\/p>\n
appropriate technology, software and equipment, keep Foundation 4-D curriculum updated and relevant, and<\/p>\n
coordinate\/oversee adjunct faculty in concurrent Foundation 4-D course sections. Candidate should demonstrate<\/p>\n
sensitivity to the particular needs of first-year students, as well as the ability and willingness to work in collaboration<\/p>\n
with diverse faculty in the first-year Foundation program and beyond, spanning courses such as 3-D Studio, 2-D<\/p>\n
Studio, Drawing and Sculpture.<\/p>\n
