{"id":21917,"date":"2022-11-18T15:13:36","date_gmt":"2022-11-18T20:13:36","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=21917"},"modified":"2022-11-18T15:13:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-18T20:13:36","slug":"opp-eye-tracking-ui-ux-researchers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2022\/11\/18\/opp-eye-tracking-ui-ux-researchers\/","title":{"rendered":"OPP: eye tracking UI\/UX researchers"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>From NYU Langone radiologist and data scientist (Laura Heacock and Krzyzstof Geras.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We are in the early stages of planning a radiology eye-tracking project looking at ways to improve teaching radiology skills.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>We were currently considering using eye tracking to test improvement in visual perception of areas of interest (suspicious abnormalities) on mammograms or breast ultrasounds before and after a user completes looking at a set of radiology images. The eye tracking would only be needed for the pre- and post-test. We have the images and the areas of concern, but do not have experience with eye tracking.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Later versions of this project would\u00a0incorporate our AI radiology algorithms, but we&#8217;d need to have this data first in order to plan these further approaches.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Right now I was looking for someone interested in writing it up as a paper. If it\u2019s successful as a pilot, there are several radiology grants that might able to fund future work.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>So possibly more targeted to students at this point.
