BNYDC\u2019s\u00a0Summer\u00a0Internship Program connects college-attending students and college-bound high school seniors to a wide range of paid internship opportunities with businesses within the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Over the course of an 8-week session, students will be connected to Yard-based businesses and departments according to their future career interests, skill sets, and educational background.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>To Apply:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Click here for the Summer 2023 Internship Program application:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/airtable.com\/shrCo5flgpMpBVLRn\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/airtable.com\/shrCo5flgpMpBVLRn&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1675901969524000&amp;usg=AOvVaw0QN-vKDoyjfcMQhjZwToOC\">bit.ly\/BNYSummer23<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Interns are selected based on their demonstration of strong communication skills, work ethic, and track record of commitment and achievement.<\/li>\n<li>Applications will be accepted on a\u00a0rolling\u00a0basis. The deadline for all applications is\u00a0<strong>Friday, March 17th\u00a0at 4:59 PM<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Limited internships are available, so applications should be sent in as soon as possible. Applications accepted earlier in the process will have greater likelihood of matching to an internship role in their desired field(s).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Internship Program Details:<\/u><\/strong><strong>\u00a0<u>\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Two 8-week sessions are available to accepted interns. Each accepted student is eligible to participate in one session:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Session 1: June 5 to July 28, 2023\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Session 2: June 26 to August 18, 2023\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Accepted interns commit to a 40-hour work week with a one-hour unpaid lunch break each day, and are compensated at $15\/hr. This totals to 35 paid hours each week.<\/li>\n<li>Interns will participate in weekly professional development activities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Eligibility:\u00a0<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A Brooklyn resident<u>or<\/u>attend a Brooklyn-based school<\/li>\n<li>A first-time<u>or<\/u>once returning participant in the\u00a0internship\u00a0program<\/li>\n<li>A current college attending student<u>or<\/u>a high school senior planning to attend college in Fall 2023<\/li>\n<li>If under 18, working papers must be provided.
