\nPosition: Youth Program Manager<\/p>\n
Job Description: The Youth Program Manager will implement and facilitate an original hands-on
\nProject Based Learning (PBL) curriculum during a summer program for 14- and 15-year-old youth
\nfrom various NYC public high schools. The Youth Program Manager will collaborate with Project
\nDesigners and a team of Program Assistants as they implement a project-based learning curriculum
\nin areas related to art, making, and digital media. The youth Program Manager will engage and
\nsupport youth participants through the program to ensure a positive youth development experience.
\nThe Youth Program Manager will report to the Beam Center Youth Employment Director.
\nResponsibilities:
\n\u25cf Collaborate with other team members to implement a project-based learning program
\n\u25cf Establish a positive learning environment for youth
\n\u25cf Establish and maintain positive relationships with youth
\n\u25cf Support, coach, and encourage youth to participate and engage in a collaborative
\nenvironment
\n\u25cf Interact critically and constructively with a team to develop and implement positive SEL
\n\u25cf Communicate regularly with other team members
\n\u25cf Manage youth participant data, attendance, and program documentation
\n\u25cf Learn new tools and techniques to enhance your own practice
\nQualifications of strong candidates:
\n\u25cf Spanish fluency is strongly preferred
\n\u25cf Experience working with diverse populations of youth
\n\u25cf Associate\u2019s degree and\/or 3+ years of experience working with youth
\n\u25cf Highly collaborative: able to ask questions, share professional opinions, celebrate teamwork
\n\u25cf Knowledge of DYCD programming
\n\u25cf Highly independent, able to set and manage personal goals, expectations, and schedule
\n\u25cf Detail-oriented with experience managing multi-faceted projects while meeting deadlines
\n\u25cf Imaginative: able to be flexible and resourceful
\n\u25cf Strong organizational skills; experience with administrative tasks
\n\u25cf Comfortable commuting throughout all NYC boroughs
\nEmployment Status: This is a full-time temporary position (40 hours\/week). Dates of employment
\nare Monday, June 5th – Tuesday, September 5th, Monday – Friday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm.
\nCompensation: This position is compensated at an hourly wage of $27\/hour.
