Each year, our programs are significant drivers of equity and excellence, impacting the lives of<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">thousands of students and teachers. We do this through robotics leagues, district-wide programs,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">credit-bearing courses, build sessions and more, all supported by our STEM Centers.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NYC FIRST\u2019s vision is centered on a network of STEM Centers that broadens resources, delivers opportunity and sets young people on pathways to success academically and professionally. They centralize valuable resources, including computing and software, fabrication equipment, and, most importantly, expert and experienced staff and mentors, all done in a highly cost-effective structure.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>About the Position<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">NYC FIRST seeks an organized, professional, and detail-oriented Manager, District Implementation to<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">support the successful implementation and execution of two of our robotics programs \u2013 FIRST LEGO<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">League and FIRST Tech Challenge \u2013 in district-wide programs in New York City, with an initial focus on<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">District 3, in Harlem and the Upper West Side. The person in this position will spend a significant<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">amount of time in Harlem and Upper Manhattan neighborhoods. Primary work location is the NYC FIRST<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">STEM Center in Washington Heights. The Manager, District Implementation will report to and work<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">closely with the Director of FIRST Programs.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Manager Responsibilities<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Project and Community Management<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Liaise with district, school and internal stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Ensure professional and timely stakeholder management of school teachers and <span>administrators, NYC FIRST community members, and others.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Build and maintain a community of teachers and experts who participate in and support <span>schools and students.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Plan and execute large-scale community events for all stakeholders.<\/li>\n<li>Create, maintain, and report on records of site visits and school support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Teaching and Learning<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Work with NYC FIRST staff to plan and conduct professional development workshops and <span>meetings for volunteer mentors, school teachers, students, and additional stakeholders.<\/span> <span>o <\/span><span>Prepare written materials, event communications, and presentation slides to support<\/span> <span>the above work.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Conduct school site visits and assist teachers in other ways throughout the year in <span>implementing FIRST LEGO League and FIRST Tech Challenge in classrooms.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Work with NYC FIRST staff to help lead professional development sessions for teachers.<\/li>\n<li>On occasion, help with hosting class field trips to NYC FIRST STEM Centers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Research and evaluation<\/span>\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with staff and independent experts to create tools for and conduct effective <span>project evaluations and research.<\/span><\/li>\n<li>Assist in data collection and stakeholder surveys.<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with external evaluators.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Additional duties as required<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Requirements\/Qualifications<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of the NYC teaching and learning ecosystems, including teacher professional<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of educational needs of communities served by NYC FIRST, with a focus on and<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">commitment to Harlem and Upper Manhattan.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Experience with <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">best practices implementing a program across many schools.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25cf <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated commitment to NYC FIRST\u2019s mission as well as STEM education access and equity.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25cf <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Comfortable working in a startup-like environment that requires a high level of self-motivation,<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">independence, and strong judgment in decision-making.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Growth Mindset and an ability to build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u25cf <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Desire to learn new skills.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Knowledge of FIRST robotics a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Spanish language fluency a plus.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Natural collaborator, eager to learn from experienced STEM Center leaders.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><b>Compensation<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">$65K &#8211;
