The successful candidate will primarily be part of the studio\u2019s research and\u00a0 development efforts and supporting project work with a focus on the inventive application of\u00a0 technology in architecture to create environments that are dynamic, interactive, and deep with\u00a0 narrative.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Areas of exploration include Machine Learning and AI, Extended Reality (MR, AR), Sustainable\u00a0 Technologies, Kinetic Architecture, and Sensory Engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Qualities we are looking for:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Innovative Thinking: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You possess a natural curiosity and a creative mindset, always\u00a0 looking for novel ways to integrate technology into architectural designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Team Collaborator: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While able to work independently, you thrive in a team environment,\u00a0 contributing to and valuing the synergy of collaborative efforts.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Technologically Savvy: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A keen interest in and aptitude for cutting-edge technologies and\u00a0 their potential applications in architecture and design.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Research-Oriented: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">You are methodical and analytical in your approach to problem solving, with a strong inclination towards research and development.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Adaptable Learner: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With the ability to quickly absorb and implement new information and\u00a0 technologies, you&#8217;re comfortable navigating the rapidly evolving tech landscape.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>R&amp;D Contribution: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Actively participate in research and development projects across\u00a0 multiple areas such as machine learning and AI, extended reality, sustainable technology,\u00a0 kinetic architecture, and sensory engagement.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Idea Generation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Propose innovative ideas and solutions that leverage technology to\u00a0 enhance architectural design and user experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Prototyping: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Assist in the development and testing of prototypes, employing a hands-on\u00a0 approach to validate concepts and refine designs.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Collaborative Research: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Work alongside the Creative Technology Team and cross disciplinary partners to conduct research, gather data, and analyze findings relevant to\u00a0 project goals.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Documentation: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Document research processes, findings, and outcomes, contributing to\u00a0 the studio\u2019s knowledge base and supporting ongoing and future projects.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Requirements:\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Educational Background: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of a program in HCI, Design &amp; Technology, Computer Science, Architecture, Engineering, Design, or a related\u00a0 field with a focus on technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Technical Proficiency: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Demonstrated experience or strong interest in one or more of the\u00a0 following areas: machine learning and AI, extended reality (MR, AR), sustainable tech,\u00a0 kinetic architecture, or sensory engagement. Proficiency with tools such as TouchDesigner,\u00a0 Unity, Unreal, Front-End Web Frameworks, Server Side programming, Network\u00a0 communications schemes\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Creative Portfolio: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A portfolio showcasing previous work or projects that highlight your\u00a0 ability to innovate using design processes with technology.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Communication Skills: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability\u00a0 to articulate complex ideas clearly and effectively through references, imagery, sketches,\u00a0 diagrams, or written descriptions,\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><b>Availability: <\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Available to commit to a full-time internship for a minimum duration of 3\u00a0 months.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Please reach out to the LAB (<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">LAB@rockwellgroup.com<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) with a link to your Resume\/CV and Selected\u00a0 Work Samples.
