Seyi Adebanjo, MFA, is a &nbsp;Queer Gender-Non-Conforming Nigerian artist who raises awareness around social issues&nbsp; through video. My current project is <strong>AFROMYSTIC <\/strong>a lyrical documentary film exploring Queer &nbsp;and Trans \u00d2r\u00ec\u1e63\u00e0 storytelling in Nigeria, Brazil, and the United States&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Position Summary:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Editing and Management Intern to support the post-production team of our documentary. This internship offers hands-on\u00a0 experience with various aspects of documentary filmmaking, from editing and organizing\u00a0 footage to transcribing interviews, managing media assets and post production workflow. If you\u00a0 have a passion for storytelling, the LGBTQ+ community, strong technical skills, and an interest in\u00a0 documentary filmmaking, we would love to hear from you!\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Responsibilities:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Transcribe interviews and other audio footage accurately to aid in ending and scriptwriting. Update Logs, ensuring all files are stored correctly and are easily accessible.&nbsp; Conduct archival research; product,on-to-post workflow management;.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Collaborate with the post-production team to address any technical or creative challenges. Provide general support with various post-production tasks, including reviewing footage,&nbsp; managing ,mecodes, and handling basic editing adjustments.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Assist with the post-production editing process, including assembling raw footage, organizing&nbsp; clips,ng proxies and making preliminary edits.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Stay up to date with project progress and par,cipate in team mee,ngs as needed.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Requirements:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Current student or recent graduate in Film, Media Studies, Communica,ons, Archival studies or&nbsp; a related field.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Proficiency in video editing so^ware (Adobe Premiere Pro).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Strong aaen,on to detail,cularly in transcription and organiza,onal tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong ,me-management skills. Familiarity with documentary filmmaking or a genuine interest in learning about the genre.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Knowledge of file formats and media management practices.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Previous experience with transcript,on or media logging is desirable but not required.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What You\u2019ll Gain:&nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hands-on experience in documentary post-production, including practical skills in editing and&nbsp; media management.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An opportunity to work closely with experienced filmmakers and contribute to an impactful&nbsp; project.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Exposure to the documentary film industry and the chance to build a professional network.
