Scope of work will be focused mainly under the Immigrant Artist<br>Program, more specifically the Immigrant Artist Newsletter. After onboarding, related<br>public-facing communications and administrative tasks will support other Learning activities.<br>Weekly hours may vary depending on internal deadlines and consultants\u2019 availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Immigrant Artist Program<br><\/strong>Through the Immigrant Artist Program (IAP), New York Foundation for the Arts is building and<br>serving a community of artists with diverse backgrounds who share the experience of<br>immigration. We connect artists with services and resources to foster their creative careers, gain<br>support and exposure for their work, and integrate into the cultural world of New York and<br>beyond while upholding their distinct identities. We do this via three main components,<br>Mentoring, Workshops, Resources, and a free monthly Immigrant Artist Newsletter.<br>Scope: Research, preparation and proofing of monthly newsletter. Related public-facing<br>communications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Primary responsibilities<\/strong> will include support for the IAP Newsletter (Approx. 12 hrs\/month):<br>\u25cf Research and identify potential ideas for lead story, arts opportunities, and non-arts<br>resources that can support immigrant artists&#8217; well-being and arts practice.<br>\u25cf Draft and format content in Mailchimp.<br>\u25cf Coordinate, conduct, and draft lead story interviews.<br>\u25cf Participate in editorial meetings.<br>\u25cf Client communication support (for i.outreach@nyfa.org &amp; immigrantartistrc@nyfa.org<br>email accounts, the 1-on-1 consultations, and public programs).<br>\u25cf Assist with participant communication, reminders, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Other responsibilities will include<\/strong> (Approx. 12 hrs\/month; will start after onboarding and<br>training from learning team members):<br>\u25cf NYFA Learning: Assist with marketing and promotion of NYFA Learning. Help develop<br>content and build out new courses (filming, drafting, collecting content, etc.). Manage<br>client inquiries about NYFA Learning and help troubleshoot.<br>\u25cf Public Programs: Support event creation on NEON, announcements, invitations,<br>registration for NYFA Learning one-off and alumni events.<br>\u25cf Draft general Learning\/Program email templates to support Learning team members<br>*For Hybrid Consultant:<br>\u25cf Managing mailings of The Profitable Artist Book (Approx. 6 hs\/month) :<br>\u25cf Tracking orders, processing USPS packing slips, packing books, and dropping at<br>the post office (2 x monthly)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The position will be open until filled, with an immediate start date dependent on final candidate\u2019s<br>availability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><strong>Qualifications\/Characteristics<br><\/strong>\u25cf Interest in supporting artists, cultural workers, and immigrants<br>\u25cf Familiarity with G Suite, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Database\/CRM, and willingness to<br>learn additional platforms as needed<br>\u25cf Strong written and verbal communication skills<br>\u25cf Ability to research for and create written content (summaries\/abstracts, blog posts,<br>articles, etc.) that are relevant to NYFA\u2019s artist community, e.g. arts-related opportunities,<br>non-arts well-being services\/resources, and trends in the field.<br>\u25cf Collaborative and keen problem solver with the ability to think on their feet<br>\u25cf Experience and\/or interest in serving as a primary point of contact for constituents<br>\u25cf An approach that acknowledges that sometimes you might not know the answer, but<br>you\u2019re the kind of person who likes to troubleshoot to figure it out<br>\u25cf If you like figuring out technology and systems, and like improving systems to make it<br>easier for people to use a tool, this role would be a good fit for you<br>\u25cf Prior experience working in an arts nonprofit preferred<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>New York Foundation for the Arts Learning is looking for a part-time\u00a0consultant\u00a0to support the Learning team on the Immigrant Artist Newsletter and other administrative\u00a0projects.
