Rooted in pioneering research on visual interfaces characterized by a distinctive attention to the human factor, the conference has evolved across the different waves of Human-Computer Interaction. It has addressed the pragmatic and hedonic needs of heterogeneous groups of users up to the current challenge of self-actualization. Creativity is a core behavior that leads to the realization of a person\u2019s full potential, and the explosion of generative AI presents both opportunities and challenges to human creativity. They address fundamental issues related to agencies, interfaces, and ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n AVI 2026 will take place in San Servolo, a small island in Venice. This delicate and fragile ecosystem provides the ideal venue for reflecting, reframing, and speculating about creative solutions to more sustainable, inclusive and rewarding technological futures. AVI is an International Conference considering the nationality of participants, authors, and organizing committees. All papers will undergo rigorous peer review by a distinguished international panel of experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Long and short papers must be fully anonymized for the review process, removing information (such as authorship, acknowledgments, name of an application, software, or project) that can suggest the authors’ identity. Citation to authors’ previous work should not be anonymous and should be in third person in the text, e.g., “As described by [10]” and not “As described in our previous work [10]”. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Specific information concerning the submission (e.g., submission format) will be made available on the AVI website in due time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n INTERACTIVE EXPERIENCES AND DEMO PAPERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n The interactive experiences and demo track is intended to provide a forum to showcase interactive installations, innovative implementations, systems, and technologies demonstrating new ideas about creativity, in relation to AVI themes and topics, and reaching out to novel communities, e.g., artists. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Specific information concerning the submission (e.g., submission format) will be made available on the AVI website in due time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n POSTER PAPERS<\/p>\n\n\n\n The AVI 2026 Poster Track is dedicated to showcasing work-in-progress that pushes the boundaries of Advanced Visual Interfaces and Human-Computer Interaction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n We especially welcome posters that explore creativity through a critical lens, addressing its complex dimensions of agency, interfaces, and ethics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This track offers a valuable opportunity to obtain precious feedback from peers and experts in an engaging, informal setting. Submissions must describe original (though not yet fully completed) research.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Specific information concerning the submission (e.g., submission format) will be made available on the AVI website in due time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n WORKSHOP PROPOSALS<\/p>\n\n\n\n We invite proposals for workshops that will facilitate the exchange of new ideas in all areas related to Advanced Visual Interfaces and Human-Computer Interaction. We invite organizers to propose either half-day or one-day long workshops held between June 8 and 12, 2026, at the AVI2026 venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Workshop proposals must be submitted using the following form:<\/p>\n\n\n\n https:\/\/forms.gle\/v7gEKFchxAGzMJtj8<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n DOCTORAL CONSORTIUM<\/p>\n\n\n\n The goal of the Doctoral Consortium is to provide a setting for PhD students to present their work and receive feedback on their doctoral research plan and progress.
