About the Event:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

With over half the world population now living in cities, Keeping It Urban: Art, Tech, Collective <\/em><\/strong>is not about urbanism itself, but rather the energy of tech, arts, and culture that are born only from the density of cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a political climate of rapid suburbanization and sterilizing cities, the summit reclaims from top-down silos. It brings together cultural forces \u2014 artists, technologists, civic leaders, and funders \u2014 that have been shaping livable cities independently into the same room to now build together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This will be a 150+ person summit featuring expert panels, startup pitches, research talks, and an all-day immersive gallery<\/strong>. The event will bring together NYC’s leaders in academia, open-sourced tech, and civic spaces. We’re featured as part of NYC Open Data Week<\/strong> w\/ 6k attendees, backed by Backslash Arts and Greg Pass, former CTO of Twitte<\/strong>r, and Cornell, with speakers from MIT Media Lab, xDesign@Google Sidewalk Labs, startups,<\/strong> and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
