This individual will promote and help to provide access to EAI\u2019s internationally-renowned collection, with an emphasis on encouraging engagement with a broad public. This position is ideal for those interested in arts administration and passionate about advocating for a small alternative arts organization in New York City. The work environment is supportive of a healthy work-life balance in the company of colleagues deeply engaged with art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>EAI\u2019s key activity is the distribution and preservation of a now-canonical collection of artists\u2019 video and media, ranging from some of the earliest uses of video and computer technologies to contemporary digital projects. Throughout its history, EAI has worked closely with artists to represent and support them with an alternative paradigm that sustains experimentation and new approaches. Proudly a small arts organization, EAI strives to adapt to significant emerging concerns, including major technology shifts and advances in accessibility measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Candidates should be organized, detail-oriented, creative and professional, and have a strong capacity for proofreading, editing, and digital storytelling. A critical engagement with video and contemporary art and keen understanding of EAI\u2019s mission and history will be indispensable. Excellent writing and graphic design skills are particularly sought after, as is experience working with Mailchimp, Adobe Suite (Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator), Instagram, Filemaker, and basic HTML.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Primary Responsibilities and Duties Include:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Overseeing and maintaining EAI\u2019s mailing list and press contacts, focusing on growth and dynamic engagement.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting and supporting the project coordination and delivery of public programs and outreach initiatives.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reporting on digital engagement metrics and translating this into actionable data and recommendations for staff.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Implementing creative ways to promote the artists EAI works with and the organization\u2019s history.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Managing and updating EAI\u2019s web homepage and events pages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Writing and scheduling EAI\u2019s eblast outreach for events and the promotion of new works\/artists in distribution.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Posting EAI events and relevant artist\/ exhibition news to social media and other outlets (Instagram, Screen Slate, etc\u2026).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Facilitating image reproduction rights and general promotion requests.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Corresponding with EAI members, supporters and donors.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Assisting with the implementation of access programs and the development of resources for audiences with disabilities, including captioning, access inquiries, and organizational policies.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Keeping abreast of the vibrant community of media, performance, and moving-image centered spaces in NY.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>General communication with scholars, students, educators, and artists to provide access to EAI\u2019s preview site and archival resources.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Compensation\/Benefits:<\/strong>&nbsp;This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week, starting at $30\/hour. Schedule is hybrid and very flexible, and PTO is offered. Attendance at relevant events and exhibitions around the city is expected and supported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This role will also be expected to attend and provide some support for occasional EAI public events and cultivation gatherings in the evenings.
