\n> Eyebeam is accepting applications for the position of Part Time
\n> Technical Assistant. The successful candidate will be resourceful
\n> and well-versed in the technological requirements of administering
\n> hardware and software for new media art and creative technology
\n> projects. S\/he will have experience maintaining a broad range of
\n> servers, personal computers, networks and should be an adept linux
\n> systems administrator. This is a part time position for the months
\n> of July through September 2008.

\n> The Technical Assistant reports to the Director of Technology and
\n> is responsible for the daily operation and support inclusive of:
\n> Servers, workstations, desktops, laptops, printers (hardware and
\n> software);
\n> Security, system backups and network infrastructure (network
\n> security, operating system upgrades, firewalls and routers);
\n> Electronic communication (email, phone system);
\n> Lab and other specialized equipment.
\n>
\n> Current projects include archiving of past projects produced at
\n> Eyebeam, rewiring the network room and installing new switches,
\n> creating an internal file server for staff with quotas, and
\n> centralizing print management.
\n>
\n> Qualifications:
\n> Academic qualification in a field related to the position (e.g. IT,
\n> Computer Science) or equivalent combination of education and work
\n> experience;
\n> Proven practical experience in linux system administration and
\n> network administration;
\n> Experience with mysql, apache, samba and cisco routers;
\n> Experience working with artists, technologists and volunteers;
\n> Experience working independently and as an effective team member;
\n> Highly motivated, creative, flexible and innovative thinker;
\n> Willing to work flexible hours;
\n> Excellent multi-tasking skills, highly organized.
\n>
\n> Compensation commensurate with experience.
\n>
