The<br \/>research work comprises the design, implementation and evaluation of<br \/>pervasive interactive systems for multi-device environments. The ALLOW<br \/>project investigates system support and user interfaces for<br \/>large-scale pervasive systems that are driven by high-level models of<br \/>human activity (flows). Topics of interest include mobile\/wearable<br \/>projected interfaces, ambient displays, and sensor-based interfaces.<\/p>\n<p>We invite applications from enthusiastic individuals who have an MSc,<br \/>PhD or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field of<br \/>relevance to the research. We seek applicants with initial experience<br \/>in the design, development and evaluation of mobile\/pervasive systems<br \/>or user interfaces, excellent systems prototyping skills, the ability<br \/>to engage with external stakeholders and the ability and commitment to<br \/>work as part of a team.<\/p>\n<p>The School of Computing and Communications offers a highly collegiate<br \/>and stimulating environment for research career development. The<br \/>positions are associated with the Embedded Interactive Systems Group<br \/>(http:\/\/eis.comp.lancs.ac.uk\/). Candidates are expected to contribute<br \/>to the strong profile of the group through participation in the<br \/>development and publication of research results.<\/p>\n<p>The posts are available immediately until 31 January 2011 with a<br \/>possibility for a further 6-month extension. Although advertised as a<br \/>full-time position, we will also consider part-time and job share<br \/>arrangements.
