{"id":3635,"date":"2010-09-18T02:40:25","date_gmt":"2010-09-17T22:40:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=3635"},"modified":"2010-09-24T14:08:57","modified_gmt":"2010-09-24T18:08:57","slug":"job-childrens-interactive-producer-wnet-org-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2010\/09\/18\/job-childrens-interactive-producer-wnet-org-2\/","title":{"rendered":"JOB: Children&#8217;s Interactive Producer wnet.org"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>http:\/\/www.wnet.org\/about\/career-opportunities\/childrens-interactive-producer\/<\/p>\n<p>Children\u2019s Interactive Producer<br \/>Thirteen\u2019s Children\u2019s and Educational Programming unit produces\u00a0 award-winning programs for PBS that spark imagination, encourage\u00a0 learning, and have lasting impact on kids\u2019 lives.\u00a0 Currently in production are the Emmy award-winning\u00a0 daily series Cyberchase, an animated math adventure for elementary age kids, and Franny\u2019s Feet, an<\/p>\n<p>animated series for preschoolers that promotes global awareness.\u00a0 Through a new partnership with HiT Entertainment, Thirteen is also co-producing Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps, a new CGI series based on the beloved storybooks, and is the presenting station for Barney, Bob the Builder, Thomas &amp; Friends, and Wishbone.<\/p>\n<p>An immediate opening is available for a Children\u2019s Interactive Producer to oversee and participate in production of children\u2019s interactive and educational Web sites, online games and applications for other digital platforms, participate in strategic planning of interactive projects, and assist with preparation and writing of funding proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Additional responsibilities include:<\/p>\n<p>Work with producers on development and production of interactive products;<br \/>Supervise all internal and external entities working on interactive projects;<br \/>Create and maintain short- and long-term production calendars;<br \/>Create functional specifications and wireframes for interactive projects;<br \/>Coordinate and lead quality assurance testing of all interactive products;<br \/>Work with project manager to oversee social media presence and strategy;<br \/>Assist in the creation and implementation of project budgets and work-for-hire agreements;<br \/>Write proposals for new project ideas<br \/>Monitor and report on key metrics using Google Analytics to generate insights and forward thinking strategies;<br \/>Identify external vendors \u2013 programmers, designers, etc \u2013 who might participate in product development<br \/>Advise on important trends in digital culture, especially pertaining to children and families.<br \/>Qualified candidates will have a Bachelor\u2019s degree and 3 \u2013 5 years experience in the creative development of Web-based interactive experiences that are both engaging and educational for children.\u00a0\u00a0 Advanced proficiency with Photoshop, ftp software, and basic html is required; candidates with experience with game design, online video, mobile technologies, CMS platforms, and a working knowledge of Flash are preferred.\u00a0 The successful candidate will have very strong attention to detail, the ability to create priorities and meet deadlines, as well as the ability to take initiative, multi-task, and work effectively in a team environment.
