Rhizome <\/span>is a <\/span>leading arts organization dedicated to the creation, <\/span>presentation, <\/span>preservation, <\/span>and critique of emerging artistic practices that engage <\/span>technology. <\/span>Through <\/span>open <\/span>platforms for exchange and collaboration, our website serves <\/span>to <\/span><\/span>encourage\u00a0and <\/span>expand the communities around these practices. Our programs <\/span>include <\/span>commissioning, <\/span>editorial initiatives, exhibitions, and preservation. Rhizome <\/span>is <\/span>an <\/span>affiliate of the New Museum of Contemporary Art. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/span>Rhizome\u00a0seeks\u00a0a focused, responsible and mature candidate for a part-time\u00a0internship. <\/span><\/span>The <\/span>internship <\/span>will be specifically focused on the management and development <\/span>of a <\/span>Rhizome <\/span>micro-site (details available on further inquiry). Core <\/span>responsibilities include <\/span>web <\/span>design, outreach, and correspondence with members. <\/span><\/div>\n

The\u00a0position\u00a0is one day per week at the Rhizome office, which is located at\u00a0the <\/span><\/span>New <\/span>Museum <\/span>of Contemporary Art in downtown Manhattan. The intern will <\/span>report to <\/span>the <\/span>Executive <\/span>Director. Candidates must be based in New York and must be <\/span>able to <\/span>commit<\/span> to 3 months. This position is unpaid, but academic credit may <\/span>be <\/span>arranged.<\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n

QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates\u00a0must be well versed in interactive design. Strong writing <\/span><\/span>and <\/span>communication <\/span>skills are a must. Intern \u00a0must be familiar with contemporary <\/span>art, <\/span>and <\/span>savvy with the web and new technologies. The candidate should <\/span>be able <\/span>to work <\/span>well <\/span>in a team environment and be able to meet deadlines. <\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n
