Product Designer Internship<\/strong><\/p>\n

Junior Designer needed at a quickly growing Solar Design company with offices in New York City and San Francisco.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

The candidate must have the following qualifications:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Creative with an eye for innovative mechanical solutions.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proficient in creating and editing SolidWorks parts files, Drawings, and Assemblies<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Proficient at rendering in Hypershot\/Keyshot or any efficient photo rendering software.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Self-starter with good time management skills.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Should be able to quickly explore a range of simple solutions to be shared with the team and vendors.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Good mechanical sense with an eye for aesthetics.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Formal engineering background a plus, but not mandatory.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The Candidate will report directly to the CTO as well as the Design Director, who will work with the candidate to create real world solutions to improve current and future solar mounting systems.<\/p>\n

ABOUT SOLLEGA:\u2028Sollega is a startup manufacturer based at NYC ACRE, New York’s Clean Tech Accelerator.\u00a0 We designs, tests and manufacturers solar mounting solutions serving the US and European markets. Our first product, the patent-pending InstaRack high-efficiency solar racking system, is a one-piece, pre-formed solar mounting system made from durable lightweight high density polyethylene plastic (HDPE). It utilizes a UV inhibitor for durability and extended life. This durable material uses a minimum of 35% recycled content, resulting in a lower carbon footprint than conventional energy intensive aluminum racking systems. We source and manufacture our products entirely in the USA.<\/p>\n

Our product attaches solar panels to roofs. We manufacture the simplest solar mounting systems on the market, saving labor time and cutting project costs. Solar CAD Designer Internship (2 positions available)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Entry-level CAD designer needed at a quickly growing Solar Design company with offices in New York City and San Francisco.\u00a0 Do you have strong design skills and want to break into the solar industry?<\/p>\n

Tasks Include:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Layout design for solar photovoltaic systems with AutoCAD<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ballast calculations based on building codes and wind zones<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spreadsheet formatting and embedding with AutoCAD<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Provide assistance and feedback for improving the number of layouts provided per week<\/p>\n

Experience:<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 A strong understanding of AutoCAD or a quick learner with basic understanding of AutoCAD.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We will provide training for design criteria regarding solar energy systems but knowledge of AutoCAD and Excel is a must.<\/p>\n

–\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Must be willing to commit to working Monday through Friday, 30 hrs\/week minimum<\/p>\n
