{"id":4176,"date":"2010-11-01T21:02:28","date_gmt":"2010-11-01T17:02:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/?p=4176"},"modified":"2010-11-02T14:57:40","modified_gmt":"2010-11-02T18:57:40","slug":"contract-job-web-developer-for-autism-speaks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/itp.nyu.edu\/opportunities\/2010\/11\/01\/contract-job-web-developer-for-autism-speaks\/","title":{"rendered":"Contract JOB: Web Developer for Autism Speaks"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Posting &#8211; AUTISM SPEAKS<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Position Title: Web Developer<\/p>\n<p>Reports to: Web Architect<\/p>\n<p>Location: NYC or remote<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is the development, implementation and maintenance of Autism Speaks\u2019 awareness and fundraising sites, and electronic communications tools.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>PRIMARY RESPONSIBILILTIES:<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Implements the technology and web site strategies laid out by the Web Architect and CCO<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Develops code and works within existing technology frameworks to efficiently develop and launch various web sites, applications and tools.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Works closely with the Web Architect to determine the proper architecture, coding and implementation of all AS web properties<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Programs or adapts additional functionality as necessary to work in conjunction with existing AS platforms<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Helps manage relationships with site vendors and service providers<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Contributes to ongoing discussion and recommendation of technical best practices as necessary<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Promotes quality control protocols and consistency for online publishing<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Understands technical and functional design requirements<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Creates prototypes for client engagements<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Designs, codes, and tests technical solutions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Identifies system deficiencies and recommends solutions<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Develops internal and external meeting objectives and agendas<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Conduct user acceptance testing, and report results<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Design and implement user-driven templates, databases and interfaces for ease of use.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>POSITION REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n<p>Education: Minimum Bachelor\u2019s degree &#8211; prefer Computer Science and\/or related degree<\/p>\n<p>Experience:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Minimum 3 years of experience in web development, web production or Internet-related field; prefer not-for-profit industry experience.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Minimum 2 years of experience in using CMS\/template driven systems, template driven systems preferred such as Drupal, Joomla or WordPress.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Specialized Skills and Knowledge:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Must have development experience with Blackbaud Sphere (formerly Kintera Sphere). This is a strong requirement as we are developing primarily within Kintera.<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Understands the necessity of and contributes to coding standards<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Excellent development and coding skills<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Strong technology background, with an eye for consistency and branding<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Has worked with source control systems like Subversion or git<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Proficient in (X)HTML, CSS, XML and an intermediate knowledge of JavaScript, PHP, and ASP .NET, AJAX, UML, MySQL, SOAP, Perl, Apache and OOP<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; Should have development experience within Drupal.
