The Margaret Mead Film &\u00a0Video Festival is the\u00a0longest-running showcase for international documentaries in the United States,\u00a0encompassing a broad spectrum of work from indigenous community media to\u00a0experimental nonfiction. The festival is distinguished by its outstanding\u00a0selection of titles, which tackle diverse and challenging subjects,\u00a0representing a range of issues and perspectives, and by the forums for\u00a0discussion with filmmakers and speakers.<\/p>\n
The Public Programs division of the museum organizes\u00a0lectures, workshops, fieldtrips and film screenings related to the museum’s\u00a0temporary and permanent exhibits. <\/span>Interns will have the opportunity to work on projects related to both\u00a0the Mead Festival and other public programs.<\/p>\n Interns are critical to our operations and we are currently\u00a0seeking motivated and creative individuals to work with us. <\/span>This internship enables interns to learn\u00a0about film festival production, documentary analysis, museum operations, and\u00a0outreach strategies, as well as hands-on involvement with the Margaret Mead\u00a0Film & Video Festival. <\/span>We\u00a0require our interns to work at least 2 whole days per week (10:00-5:00 pm,\u00a0M-F)\u00a0plus assist with 4 evening or weekend programs per semester. Intern tasks include, but are not limited to: general office and administrative\u00a0support; composing\/designing and distributing flyers and posters; overseeing\u00a0film submissions; compiling and overseeing various mailings; maintaining\u00a0databases and website; working on outreach, education or web projects; and\u00a0assisting with marketing\/publicity.
<\/span><\/p>\n
Current college or graduate students, preferably with arts, social science\u00a0or\u00a0media degrees. \u00a0Must be reliable, organized and positive.
<\/span>Must have deep knowledge of Excel and Word. <\/span>Arts\/technology knowledge, and knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, a plus.<\/p>\n
