Overview<\/div>\n
Hey, Neighbor! (http:\/\/heyneighbor.com<\/span>) is an early start-up working on a location-based product that will\u00a0make being a good neighbor easier. We connect neighbors with neighbors who may not otherwise know\u00a0each other and provide them\u00a0an easy way to interact with one another.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
We are looking for an intern with expertise\u00a0or a keen interest in marketing and the business of social media\u00a0to join our team part-time in our NYC office. We are flexible with working hours and location and can work\u00a0around class schedules. Our development is underway and our Beta is set to launch in January.<\/div>\n
Responsibilities<\/div>\n
– Work with co-founders to conduct research on competitive and complementary websites and\u00a0mobile applications<\/div>\n
– Assist with identifying and defining partnership opportunities, transactional systems, policies,\u00a0guidelines, etc. as needed<\/div>\n
– Research key statistics and assist with monitoring key news in our space<\/div>\n
– Assist with strategic planning for future feature rollouts and scaling<\/div>\n
\n
– Set up and manage HN\u00a0marketing efforts on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, etc.<\/div>\n
– Create, manage and contribute to HN blog regularly<\/div>\n
– Provide feedback on design and tech builds<\/div>\n
– Assist with quality\u00a0assurance reviews<\/div>\n
– Assist with operational administrative tasks as needed<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
Experience\/Skills<\/p>\n
– Experience with social networking and location-based mobile applications<\/div>\n
– Ability to work\u00a0in a fast-paced, highly collaborative atmosphere<\/div>\n
– Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to multi-task<\/div>\n
– Management experience or previous social\u00a0network start-up experience a plus<\/div>\n
– Strong analytical and problem-solving skills<\/p>\n
– College\u00a0degree in computer science a plus<\/div>\n
Timing and Compensat ion<\/div>\n
– Starting in December, 2010 or January, 2011 through May, 2011 (part-time)<\/div>\n
– Open to considering candidates for the Winter Break only<\/div>\n
– This opportunity is unpaid, but it’s a chance to work with an experienced team on an exciting<\/div>\n
product and our goal is for it to lead to a paid, full-time position or paid Summer internship<\/div>\n
