Vision Education &amp; Media\u2019s after school program activities are designed to wrap around the school day curriculum and creatively enhance students\u2019 learning, using computers for Animation and Game design, LEGO Robotics, and other classes. This is an opportunity to have fun building with LEGO, to help students develop creative and academic skills through the creation of multi\u2010media projects, and the opportunity to develop\/teach technology integrated curriculum.<\/p>\n<p>Qualifications:<\/p>\n<p>Candidates for mentor positions must:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have a BA or BS degree and a background in education and\/or technology.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have a minimum of 1-year teaching experience in a classroom setting.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have mastery of classroom management techniques.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have proficiency with computers.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Have a desire to learn new technologies.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Be energetic and enthusiastic<\/p>\n<p>Responsibilities of the Mentor position include:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to commit to all program dates.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ability to be on time and prepared for class.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Attendance to Vision trainings and workshops as required.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Regular communication with Manager or Supervisor.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Written Wiki reports within 24hrs of class.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Supplementation of basic curriculum with additional activities\/project ideas.<\/p>\n<p>This position is part\u2010time. Training is provided. Computer clubs are generally 2 hours long and take place during the afternoon between 2pm\u20106pm. We teach classes in all five boroughs; candidates are responsible for transportation to and from school locations.
