My name is Ben Graney, and I’m an Alum (’08) of the Graduate Acting Program at Tisch. \u00a0I serve on the board of the Graduate Acting Alumni Association (GAAA), as well as on the board of the Tisch East Alumni Council.<\/p>\n
I’m in charge of the GAAA website, which was designed and put in place before my board membership started. \u00a0See it here: \u00a0http:\/\/gradactingalumni.org\/blogs\/<\/a><\/p>\n It was built and is maintained with WordPress and Symphony, and in my opinion is clunky and ugly. \u00a0The GAAA recently had a retreat where I put forth a proposal to redesign the website to make it more exciting, easier to navigate and use, and look more professional. \u00a0I have a very rudimentary knowledge of coding but am a quick learner, which is where I hope ITP and it’s Alumni come in.<\/p>\n I would love to redesign the website using Squarespace or Business Catalyst\/Dreamweaver, but I don’t have the skills needed to go off-template and create the design and interface I want. \u00a0I’m interested in these platforms because it puts more control into our hands, and not a designer and developer’s, in terms of content management.<\/p>\n Are there any ITP Alums or current students who you could recommend for this gig? \u00a0My hope would be to sit in on the sessions so I could learn from them on how to code and maintain the site to the best of my abilities. \u00a0This gig may lead to a more permanent role as our website consultant.<\/p>\n Please feel free to pass this email along to any interested parties, or give me a call. \u00a0Thank you in advance for your help!<\/p>\n Sincerely,<\/p>\n Ben Graney<\/p>\n M.F.A. – Graduate Acting (’08)<\/p>\n G.A.A.A.
