www.urbaninterns.com<\/a>) is a job board for part time jobs and internships. \u00a0We\u2019re based in NYC. \u00a0We\u2019ve been around for nearly two years with a drupal site, but after closing a round of funding this summer, we recently relaunched the site in custom php using the Zend framework. \u00a0We are looking for a php developer to help us take the product to the next level. \u00a0We\u2019re looking to add new features and continue to tweak our existing ones.<\/p>\nAs our new developer, you\u2019ll be doing a little bit of everything – front end, back end, and systems admin work. \u00a0But the main focus\/time spent will be back end. \u00a0You must be located in NYC or surrounding area.<\/p>\n
The position will start at about 50-75 hours\/month and scale to full time over the next 3-6 months. \u00a0We\u2019re looking for someone who is excited about working at a startup, and is resourceful in terms of problem solving. \u00a0Pay will be a combination of cash plus equity.<\/p>\n
Required Skills:<\/p>\n
* 3+ years experience with front and back end web development<\/p>\n
* Expert level CSS, including best practices, standards and optimization techniques<\/p>\n
* Expert with cross-browser compatibility<\/p>\n
* Expert level html, XHTML<\/p>\n
* Expert level Lucene, MySQL, PHP, Zend<\/p>\n
* Knowledgeable in page load time optimization<\/p>\n
* Experience with OO JavaScript, AJAX, JSON, jQuery<\/p>\n
* Experience with developing applications using Model View Controller design patterns<\/p>\n
* Experience with source control and version control tools (preferably<\/p>\n
Subversion)<\/p>\n
* Experience with Linux command line<\/p>\n
* Understanding of Social Networking and Web 2.0 technologies<\/p>\n
* Experience using 3rd party development API’s (Facebook, Google, etc.)<\/p>\n
* Ability to work in a small team and build consensus with colleagues<\/p>\n
